Wait for it...."Blah blah Vestel.....blah blah Which review score.....blah blah buy a more expensive one....blah blah don't listen to the good reviews, people who own the TV don't know what they're on about" etc. etc.

Surely people who want to pay more shouldn't be on this website, and just go to Curry,Comet etc lol

They should be on the site as we all like to get the best price but I think that pointless comments of pay an extra £250 and can get such n such with a feature you won't use is not a fair comparison. Good find heated

Ps will add sound on these is poo

Anyone know how these compare with other 40inch sets and whether or not they have USB etc? Any review links would be good!

Voting hot as this is the cheapest branded 40inch i seen. Worth buying just to play your ps3 on ;)

Irrelevant comment...

This is a great price for a 40" tv regardless of make, maybe not the best tv in the world but a bargain for many people I am sure, have some deserved heat.

Good for kids room, great price, thanks :)

you guys still use the sound on the TV?

get a pair of grados. why pay extra for good visuals + audio in one when you can get the best of both, separately, for cheaper?

this is like people that buy astro a40s at ridiculous prices because it has the convenience of a mic attached...
#10
Yes my kids would love a massive pair of grados, they'd look like mickey and minnie mouse

uhh...bad joke?

grados are among the smallest overhead headphones on the market (while being the best).

Price is good but I had a Toshiba Regza once and won't make that mistake again.

Lol Grado's for watching tv? Unless you want your ears teared up with treble I'd suggest either getting a cheap pair of 2.1 speakers or some panasonic HTF600's.

OOS :(
#23
OOS but just had my email to say payment taken, so hopefully will be here on Saturday. Bought for the wife who's leaving to keep her happy, so she leaves me with the Samsung LED so hope the sound is c**p, Happy Days :p

teared up with treble..? this doesnt sound like any of the grados i own.

regardless; sennheisers, koss... there are plenty of good quality headphones that you can couple with a good quality video TV and you wont need to care at all about the TVs audio. just stay away from those dr dre/skullcandy POSs.

Well grado's are known for their boosted treble. I had the 225i's and while they were great for short bursts of music enjoyment, that's all they were good for and the treble got tiring quickly. For watching tv or movies I wouldn't recommend them at all.

I was just mocking the usual flurry of comments cheap TV deals get on here from certain Which? subscribers - I voted hot.
I guess the variety on here is one of the site's best features-if you're in the market for a budget or premium spec TV (or whatever) you can usually find something suitable posted here, so those looking to spend more should still look, but it would be nice if they didn't start preaching to everyone else that they should spend more!

You think that running a vehicle and having someone visit your home to deliver the goods doesn't incur a cost ? ? ?

Hmm... I've got an LG had a samsung and I also have a Toshiba Regza... The Regza is way better than the other two (particularly when displaying standard definition). Thats not to say the HD isnt superb too...

I think we must disagree....

I guess they noticed the misplace. The link now goes to a 32" TV and the 40" is in stock but at £379.

I wonder if anyone will actually get one!

Why?

Well the one I used had the worst Freeview client I have ever seen and also had this weird problem where it would fail to establish HDCP connections at random so you would need to change the channel and then change it back again to get sound on a lot of PS3 games and DVD's. It also couldn't display PC's over VGA in native low resolution as I found out when I had to boot a machine into native DOS and ended up having to take the machine to my office to do it because the TV wouldn't work.

The biggest problem by far though was that the panel failed with a massive colour stripe within 6 weeks of me buying it atnd I had to send the TV back to Toshiba to get a replacement which then took a further 3 weeks because they apparently 'had to order the part in' even though it was one of their latest models at the time and the TV which they returned to me had a different serial number to the one I had sent to them meaning that they basically just warrantee replaced the whole unit. 'Order the part in' my ****. The courier they used to collect and send it back was DPD as well who wouldn't collect or deliver outside of office hours so I had to take time off work to sort it out.

Never again.

The picture and sound quality were good on it when it worked I will agree there but I still definitely preferred the Samsung which I had before that and the Panasonic which I have now. The picture quality on the Panasonic which I have now is outstanding though, sometimes even a little too clear for my liking. :)

Exactly. The price is right, but what is the point if the quality is not?

The key question is: would you be disappointed if it breaks after 2 years? Sure enough you can probably get a better TV for less money in 2 years. If that is fine by you, go for it. I like to keep a TV for 5 years at least, so I would rather spend a bit more for a real brand TV.
