I bought the same Tosh from Siansburys last week but ended up returning it. These have an issue with audio over HDMI when using the TV speakers. After about 1.5 to 2 hours of playback through HDMI, the audio starts to distort and sound robotic. After some research, it seems that Toshiba have been aware of this problem but they dont seem to have a solution.

It's not bad for the price but the fault with the HDMI is a big negative IMO.

I got the same problem sometime back with my Tish as well returned it but the guy who sold it to me hasn't returned my money claiming that it's something they could fix, i didn't know the problem is traced back to the manufacturer, i better go get my money then.

I've had two Toshiba XV series tvs - both returned to Amazon with sound fault.
Now have the 47" version and that is doing the same. By all accounts there is supposed to be a fix on its way.

All you have to do is switch to another input and back again. You shouldn't have to do this but it's not a big deal. After weighing up the options and considering the amount I'd have to spend over and above the refund I decided to keep the tv. The problem happens maybe once a month - sometimes when the tv's been on all day, sometimes after half an hour, sometimes its cable sometimes PS3.

All the stores are trying to offload stock of over thick LCDs that don't have Freeview HD. I think they're having difficulty selling them, judging by the number of 'offers'.

Recently had to get a 19"Tosh' with integrated DVD fixed by them under warranty - wierd sound fault after running ok for a while. Tosh customer service said they've had loads back for a firmware mod to sort this - meanwhile just had my 40" delivered by sainburys today - will keep a close ear on it  didn't pick up on the further £20 off deal but got some nectar points anyhow.8-)

I have the xv635db and was assured by comet that the part would be coming in to fix the hdmi issue, howver, I have just had a returns authorisation note this morning :)
