my mum and dad bought the 46" inch version of this TV from Comet instore about a week ago

was £799 so could be a possible alternative :D

is a trully amazing TV better than my sammy 42" plasma

Why bring out a 46" and a 47" version of the same TV?
#4
for ppl like me who'd like more than 46 but can't fit a 50" in the cabinet ;)

havin said that: I'm not a Toshiba person but this does seem like a good cheap deal

This is a great set BUT I wouldn't hesitate in an extended warranty.

My Tosh 37c3030 which is 18 months old blew the digital receiver the other day - it was only Toshiba saying that they would do a warranty repair for free that saved me or I would have had to claim on the home contents - phew.

I need to agree I bought the 46XF355DB from Comet last week for £799. It is a spectacular tele the picture quality on sky + (not HD) is very very good and the quality on PS3 for DVD's and games is great never mind BluRay. I am so pleased with this tele I wouldn't swap it. The sound, which is done by Onkyo, for those of you that know top of the range audio equipment is brilliant and it has a sub-woofer out if you dont want to go to the trouble of av receivers etc.

Also has the benefit of only being about the size of most 42" tv's as the surround is so small.

The only thing i can fault with this TV is , it only has digital audio output ! so for people using surround sounds without digital out your gonna be a tad screwed .

i can also say get the extended warrenty , comet has some good deals on 5 years .
#8
well it doesn't do surround processing in itself, i've not seen any panels have compenent audio output
#9
my samsung has componant output , i assumed most Tvs had it ?

Most likely your 46 will be the XV of xf Series. The Z series apeared in 42" an 47". Great TV as includes 100Hz which quite a few do not and it is one of the better TVs with it. Got the 42" version and is a cracking TV. Don't be put off by the "LOW" Contrast compared to the later models as it is plenty. I have mine running at only 20%. Was the high end model until replaced with the far more expensive ZF range.

Hmm. Product detail describe a 46" television so who knows what you might receive...

Got one of these when it was £879 a couple of months ago and I'm really pleased with it. The 100hz makes all the difference, the power consumption is low (110 watts) when I set the brightness to 20% (which looks the best for me, any higher and the blacks are too grey). I turned off the Dynamic Contrast though, as the wildly varying backlight brightness was insane (most decent LCDs have this feature but I can't see the point, it's so offputting!)

Is nobody tempted by the Sony 70" widescreen Bravia @ Amazon for £22,999.00 ?!

Hi, I was wondering whether this TV is available cheaper from anyone else rather than Amazon. Not that there is anything wrong with Amazon.
I was hoping to use Quidco and perhaps get a decent warranty, I don't know if John Lewis even sell this TV or would consider price matching?
