Price has dropped to £859.99 on Amazon. I reclaimed the difference ( was £899.99) when I bought it 29 days ago.

I really recommend this TV. Hope this helps

No. It's full HD though if you have a HD signal.

The SD signal is very good too due to the 100Hz feature :)

I would say the Toshiba is better because:

It's full HD unlike the Samsung (which is HD ready)
It's LCD not a plasma which doesn't suffer from screen burn as much and is better for gaming.
It has better sound
It's NOT £300 more

Hope that this helps :)

Just a word of warning - it says delivery in 7-10 days - that is their way of saying "Not in stock"
read the small print and you will see it says 7-10 working days.. not only that but they will take the money straight away. be prepaired to wait for up to a month with them holding your money all the time

bought last time will be contacting amazon about the difference cheers but a great tv

ok not 300, 250. Got the samsung down to 650 and this is more than 900 without the discount code which i cant seem to use!

MAJOR difference. This one is FULL HD 1080p but the other is HD ready. A fundamental difference hence the £300 off.

hmm,
- Full HD is an over-hyped marketing-man wet-dream. Resolution is much less important than contrast ratio, colour accuracy, response time, etc. That said, at 47/50 inches, 1920x1080 starts becoming useful.
- It's a LCD, not a Plasma so it has the qualities of LCDs (no screen burns, good for gaming) and the faults of LCDs (slow response time, poor blacks, poor contrast ratio, etc). Plasmas and LCD have different qualities and faults, before spending £850, you should read about them, go to a real shop and see some and then make your decision. (unless of course £850 is an irrelevant amount of money for you and is not worth investing any time into.) You can start by:

http://www.trustedreviews.com/tvs/review/2008/01/29/Toshiba-Regza-47Z3030D-47in-LCD-TV/p1

Still, good price for a decent screen albeit maybe dodgy with SD. So hot but unfortunately choosing a TV nowadays is far from trivial.
