I'm not sure if it is the case with the Store.e drives but the Toshiba Canvio drives have problems with USB 3 and Macbooks, this issue can be overcome by using a USB Y extension cable or a USB 2 micro cable however.

    Good price, hot from me

Yes it will work fine (TV will check it for speed then format it for use first) 8)

The only thing to consider with USB3 portable drives is the the supplied cable is so short... Do you want the drive on display? Or tucked away behind.

Is the optional free case only available if you purchase this item for Home Delivery - or is it that that the item itself (regardless of whether or not a free case is being requested) is only available for Home Delivery? The Currys website for the item is ambiguous on this point. Has anybody managed to order the item with a free case by using the "Reserve and Collect" option?

Pity the 1TB is £79.99 in store. Why the f*ck in this day and age are the store prices different? It's almost like they don't actually want people to shop in the bricks and mortar stores. In which case, close them down...

hi,i am after one for the same reason and wondering if 500GB is big enough....i know it depends if you are recording SD or HD(freeview) but any idea how much memory say 1 hour of SD and 1 hour of HD would use up?....as a rough guess

    thanks
