I believe these are the same one's as Play.Com brand themselves

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3511925/Play-com-8GB-SD-HC-Memory-Card/Product.html

Theres this one from Play.Com for the same price - £10.99 + quidco, but I don't know anything about them

.. I don't think it's a bad deal, but for an extra £1 you could buy a Class 6 8GB card instead of this slower Class 2 :

.. "Class" definition :

Says in the information - Write Speed 6 MBytes/s

So this is a class 6 too isn't it?

.. no, it's class 2. :)

So the description is wrong?

.. I suggest that the 6MB/s rating is its maximum write speed. Class 6 is effectively defined as minimum 6MB/s write speed.

The 6MB/s is the maximum and "Maximum speed" ratings are quoted by the manufacturers but unverified by any independent evaluation process and they are very much fictional numbers especially for the lesser known brands. However the Class system is a minimum and is an international standard. If your memory is too slow, you have a legal right to get remedy for it. However the "maximum" speed is an "up to" figure and you have not a leg to stand on legally. As for people who cannot tell the difference between Class 4 and Class 6 then this may be due to the fact that the cheaper Class 6 is pretty close to 6 ~ 7 MB/s therefore you don't see much difference but for really fast 10 MB/s SD cards , they are expensive, they are still classed as 6 although the new SD specification should add Class 8, Class 10 etc. as Panasonic has just brought out Class 10 SDHC but this information is yet not widely known http://www.dpreview.com/news/0905/09052102panasonicclass10sdhc.asp
