I posted this 6 weeks ago when it was £99.99 with the lovefilm offer and a £10 voucher if you spent another penny to take the order to £100, the love film deal is worth £95.88, so a great deal then and a great deal now.

Brilliant deal this - I got mine a few months ago and used the code to extend my existing Lovefilm subscription by a year.

Im happy with mine - Plays everything Ive thrown at it so far and the picture is great.
The only negative seems to be that the card slot cant be used for divx/avi files but it plays them fine from a disc for some reason.

No, unfortunately theres no USB which is a bit of a downer.
The newer model does though and is only a tenner more (still with the lovefilm offer)

I would say its less than a minute for Blu Rays but this seems to be dependent on the discs.
It's definately faster than my Sharp Blu-Ray player thats for sure!

Never really understand why people are bothered about startup times, when are you ever in a rush to watch a movie?? Guess its folk who've never been to the cinema as they'd get bored waiting to buy their tickets and go home.
#17
Can it be made multi-regional for DVD?
#18
How do you get the free subscription? Is there a code in the box? Also does it matter if youve been a member with lovefilm before?
#19
can it bitstream HD audio?
#20
Wow. Hot, thanks,
#21
Yeap, good deal. I got one of this myself. Good player too works brilliantly with my Toshiba TV. Lovefilm is a great plus only down side is that you can only rent 4 in a month, and they don't really have the best blu ray choices compared to Blockbuster.

well if were plaining to spend £90 then we atleast expect a decent start up time, and i also hate the start up time on Sky +,
#23
you dont get the 3x unlimited games package with this do you?, someone posted a similar post a few months ago and they stated that you only get 4 DVD's a month (i think), btw this blue ray player is extremely slow on starting up

start up time on sky plus?...yours must be fecked,i go to planner select my program ans press play, maybee 10 secs for the whole operation, how much quicker do you want it,do you watch the progs at 30x FF as normal speed would obviously be to slow for you

i dont think you know what start up means, your sky+ is probably on standby all the time im talking about from when its completely turned off from the mains, it takes about 3-5mins to start up

I don't agree. The reviews are not that bad. In my opinion it is better to upgrade to the BDX2100 for £99.99 and get The Lovefilm subscription. It plays MKV off a hard drive and has HDMI. The picture is great but it doesn't have WI-FI. No big deal. Thanks I am considering this for the bedroom.

I have a JVC DVD home theatre. if I substitute the DVD player with the Toshibha BDX2100 Bluray player can I still connect my JVC speakers to this Bluray player. Plz advice. thx

Who in their right mind would leave a Sky + switched off at the mains? The whole point of a PVR is that it is on all the time, recording programmes.

Not unless your JVC has AUX sockets for you to connect another input to. You can't just remove it as it's the amplifier and surround decoder for your system, as well as the DVD player.

Its not often you get a deal that ends up giving you money back! Plus there seems to be availibility throughout the uk. Heat added and got mine reserved!
#37
Just be wary - the offer has to be taken up within a week of purchase. Last time I purchased one of these for the LoveFilm offer the I didn't open the box until after that time :-( Very annoying.

does anyone know if this, or indeed the £100 from Dixons, will, or are likely in the future, support Blu Ray 3D?

emmmm really vague question but the simple answer is people who dont have any recordings taking place specially over night:)

no 3D on this one or dixons one...
dont bother with that! it will take at least a year for a decent 3D film and player to be on the market...
just go with this til then, then sell it.
