This is fine for the most basic of tasks, browsing and email etc. The CPU is very slow.

Would be worth adding 1GB of RAM e.g. (DDR3 RAM (1,066 MHz))
http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/listparts.aspx?model=Satellite%20Pro%20C650D-10W&Cat=RAM

This takes the price to £250. May be worth going to £260 with this from Ebuyer http://www.ebuyer.com/product/237715
or for £290 http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/emachines-eme732-core-i3-2gb-ram-160gb-hdd-289-97-save-laptops/923632

Warranty. Toshiba have cheap extended warranties here. http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=UK&toshibaShop=false&BV_UseBVCookie=yes&PRODUCT_ID=1087489#0

A slow processor and only 1GB RAM, so not worth the money when for an extra £30 or so you can get dual-core 3GB machines (check out other deals on this site).

I was looking for a cheap laptop that can be used for internet and watching DVD's for my in law. Thought this might be useful for somone.

I opted for another one.

Good luck with the new laptop.

I'd say dual-core and 2GB RAM is a minimum to go for these days, preferably i3 with 3GB (these are about £320 new on Amazon).
