Refurb with 3 Months warranty

Useful to have that info in the title.
#4
Looks a massive bargain, 3 months warranty a bit short though.
#5
a bit of a risk buying this. bargain price though.
#6
Wow Tosh, i3 under £260, really tempting deal.

just got toshiba the 17 .3 one from argos its ok but the fan comes on in large bursts it startles me.
#8
great price, shame they don't follow others like Argos outlet and offer a full 12 month warranty but if i was after a 15" i3 i would definatly look into this closely and check the reviews etc.
#9
Looks pretty decent for price. Don't think it has HDMI (stand to be corrected) but you can't complain at this price. Like previous post, would probably jump at it if they were like the Argos ones with 12 month warranty - usually when you go for one of the Argos ones with loads available, they come looking like new in their original packaging.

Looks like they have 100 of these for sale, so if all customer returns could suggest an inherent fault with this model or could just be a pallet that has been lying around, however, ad does say they don't come with original packaging.

Bit of a dilemma whether to buy or not.

What a load of crap! Get your iformation right! I bought from Pc world Refurb before. They have a years guatante on there products. Its just you only havr a month to return, if something aint right. A bit like ARGOS.
How do I know? Becasue Ive done this before with a laptop that wasnt right, and went back. Full refund

Was it their ebay refurb store or from their own website (ebay refurb store states 3 month whereas there own website sells with 12 month warranty, however, currently selling the same refurb model on own website for £349.99.

You should read the ad properly. This one 3 months warranty. I agree with the second poster "not much confindence in the product". Laptop prices are on a downward spiral, this one is not for me.

If the 12 month warranty is important to you then you can get it from the Dixons website (still DSG) for £314.99 using the 10% discount code DXPC10.

i just bought a refurb i5 from dell outlet with 1 year guaran-damn-tee for £385 after quidco
#15
Woah, this is the i3-370M too! HOT!

I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole. I know 5 people that have bought refurbs from PC world and every one of them has returned it for a refund they all never worked right from the start and some said that they thought PC world hadn't repaired the problem it was originally sent back with. Add the hassle of trying to return a Ebay sale and you are really in some trouble
#17
3 months warranty is pants. If you've bought one might be worth trying to extend the warranty here

good price. Heat added
#19
no hdmi, :( , apart from that, a great deal. thanks for the post. :)
#20
For that price Id take the plunge, apart from having just bought one! Note though there is an odd keyboard fault on some of these Toshs (which I have on my Tosh 660-11H almost identical) needed a BIOS update.
#21
Great price, but the limited warranty kills it for me.

I got a refurbed Toshiba from Currys/PC World (I don't remember which, it was last year), it overheated (which I think is just a Toshi problem), and the right speaker didn't work, so I took it back. In the end it wasn't really worth the hassle, professionally checked my ****, how does a professional miss a speaker?

Trivial to some, but the fact that it already had two faults didn't sit well with me.
#23
"seller refurbished" as opposed to "manufacturer refurbished" is the key here, especially when we've all seen the people PC World employs.
#24
I got a refurbished HP laptop from the PC World website - it had 12 months warranty. Packed in after less than 2 years. Constantly overheated then just died a death.

The fact that they sell refurbished ones on their own web site with 12 months warranty, but only offer 3 months on the stuff they are offloading through ebay would put me off. Their customer service is hopeless anyway, so to me it's just not worth the risk. £260 is still a lot of money to spend for a 3 month warranty.
#25
I would have thought under the sale of goods act their 3 months would be worthless to them.
#26
A warranty does not affect your statutory rights! 3 months they MIGHT just get away with the battery on that but there's no way that is standing in a court they can't touch your rights in law and stating a 3 month warranty would impact that especially as under UK law any fault that occurs within SIX MONTHS of purchase is deemed to have been present at purchase hence they're screwed.

3 months indeed!!! How typical of DSG

thats an awesome idea... im gonna buy a few since there are four bedrooms in my house and everyone can have one to hang on their walls.
might even get one for my dogs kennel...
SO excited!

PCW and 3 months warranty put me off but at least you could send it back within 7 days if anything feels even slightly wrong, heat etc.

Does the i3 have graphics on the CPU? Or is that the Sandybridge one's? I can't keep up!
#30
anyone any ideas on the physical condition of these??marks/scratches etc? all it says is there is no original box :S
#31
i'm gonna take the plunge and if anything goes wrong that i can't fix easily (ie wireless firmware updates) then il send it back with a sad-face on a yellow post it, with a request for a full refund!!
#32
i would presume it'll be fine ive had a toshiba for 5 1/2 years and its still good besides the battery and charger being a b*tch

And yes toshibas have a overheating issue
