Check ebay.. you will find a cheaper one listed.. business seller with zero feedback. £19.99 + £4.99 P&P

I did post it as a deal but presumably the mummy of the Internet decided to restrict my deal to other members in order to protect them.. Which I actually think abused my rights as a member...

Will paypal cover it then? Just with the seller having no feedbacks, could be listed wrong? There is one up for £41 also as a 2tb but when you check the listing description it details a 500gb, maybe this could be a similar situation, just a thought.

yes you are 100% covered by ebay guarantee.
as long as it's posted to a registered address of yours and you use PayPal

Also any new ebay account does NOT receive a PENNY through PayPal UNTIL the buyer has left POSITIVE feedback. I'm really annoyed that HUKD has moderated my post..

Get a grip.

Presumably you know ebay sellers have to have a certain amount of feedback (around 1000, I think) before they can be posted on here.

There is no way a 2tb drive for less than £25 from a zero feedback seller is anything other than a scam.

There is also an external for £19.99 from the same seller. Considering they are usually £60+ it seems very cheap? My understanding is the money is held initially by PayPal? Hmmmm

Ha.. No but I don't live too far away to pay him a visit ;) I've not been let down by ebay at all with their guarantee.. I've had items not arrive from genuine sellers and also fake items arrive. (Didn't intend to buy fake) and every time I got my money back. I did actually order one.. So that's how much I trust ebay.. I also know from a friend setting up an account that the money is not withdrawable from PayPal with new accounts until feedback left..Another protector in place. We are not back in the year 2000 you know.. These scams were old and the holes now closed..

The listing and ebay user now appear to have been removed.. but that could be because other members reported the listing. ebay have messaged me saying if I paid the transaction should go through and I don't need to do anything.. I'd be quite happy to receive the drive. :)

Most of what you say is correct, but... if they closed the scam account, of course, you won't get it and the transaction won't "go through". eBay just want to you wait in the off chance that you do get it (you won't) and keep your money for as long as possible earning interest while they make you jump through hoops to get your money back. Same thing happened to me a few Christmas's back when I bought a phone on eBay; the seller just wanted to make some Christmas cash so sold 10 x iPhones that didn't really exist. It took a couple of weeks to get my money back. I've been using eBay since the early 2000s and have bought and sold over a thousand things, I've seen most things happen from both the buyer and seller perspective (except I have never scammed anyone and have 100% feedback, thank you very much! :-).
