My Panasonic one is living on top of the Wardrobe as we speak! (and that does time-shifting) It is just one of those gadgets that was short lived, and FAR better exists for little more cost)

my panny broke after 18 months and it cost me £240!! DVD-RAM was nice but still rubbish compared to HDD.

Exactly!

DVD is OK, if you are into archiving stuff, but as I rarely do that, it is just a waste of time, and I used the space for other stuff!

I never use mine now, it is upstairs in the cupboard it come out here and there when the camcorder is backed up but that is done on the comp most of the time now but the wife like to use it here and there.
