V nice, core duo not core 2 duo, and no not quite free vista upgrade, and 100 gig less hdd, but double DDR... 128 shared graphics too not 256. Battery life about equivalent to 6 cell version of dell... no option to upgrade on the cheap though,
Great deal though. +ive rep left.
It should be qualified for the MS free vista upgrade.

And the 128 or 256 shared memory are almost same on performance.

Agrees the point on the processor, C2D should be 7/8% faster. However CD tends to consume less power so it should have a better battery life.

Thanks for the post, on the website is shows price as £499.99, not £449

is this laptop refurbished?
Brand new, And brand new model exclusive to DSG group.
i need to get one so should i go for this one?
What is the general view on this as value for money ? Also, how do Toshiba's rate on reliability / battery life ?
Like the DELL's inspiron 6400, the Equium A100 is a low end model from Toshiba. So you don't expect the quality of ThinkPad since they are cheap. Generally, Toshiba is a good brand, the quality of the Equium is acceptable. The screen is very nice.

This is the manufacture link:
Still around :)
