we looked at this item thought it was a fab deal at first just about to had over my card to pay when asked did it have any software like the basic a word processor and spread sheets. they said no and ms works cost £80 fine if u have the software but it literaly comes with only vista. found a much better deal with softare from a local laptop shop.

Or you could have downloaded Openoffice for free.

Why not use openoffice. MS works isn't that good anyhow.

If the PC is for school you will need MS office. Most post primary school children will also need MS Publisher and Powerpoint as well as a word processor.

office 2007 is dirt cheap for students, around 18quid, some places give it to students for free.
