For anybody who missed out on Play.com's bargain price of £49.99 last week, Amazon are selling this player for £59.99. It was £49.99 not long after Play.com started selling them at that price, then went up to £69.99 and now it's been reduced by a tenner.

Anybody who has ordered this from Amazon in the last 30 days, don't forget to claim back the difference under their refund policy.

Why would people vote this cold....

2 HD films included in the box, lets say worth £10 a piece would make this HD DVD Player £39.99. The same price as my philips dvd upscaler.

They have 290 odd of these left in stock.

It was over 600 last week.

Not voting either way, but it was £49.99 for a while recently so whilst it's a good price it has been better not a long time ago.

And it's already been posted!

How do you know what stock levels Amazon have?

If that stock level is correct and with the initial stampede of last week over there’s a good chance this could go back down to £49.99

you add 999 to your baskets and then amazon will either allow it or say something like "only x amount left"

Silly Question, does anyone know how to go about claiming the difference as I have just bought this as the £69.99 price on Thursday last week? I can't see anything obvious on Amazon's site. Many thanks in advance.

Stock now at 278 remaining. The price should come back down I think as they've only sold half of them according to the post higher up which indicated stock of 600 last week and most of those sales will have been made at £50. I ordered one at £70 on Sat night after much soul searching for fear that I may miss out altogether. (I've just submitted my first £10 back off Amazon request!)

For this price, the very least you are getting is a very good DVD player (remember though kids, no SCART sockets on these so not for old TVs!) However, for those with an HD ready LCD or plasma, this is the cheapest way yet to see HD in your front room especially with the two free films included.

There's a review here for those that are interested. Bear in mind this review was made based on a RRP of £249... Don't sound bad to me.

It's now £64.99!

Amazon now accepts orders of 999 so they must have got more in stock. I guess prices will come down again very soon.

....needless to say I did not press the confirm order button. I am waiting for 29.99.

It's now back down to £59.99. I claimed by £5 back from buying it at £64.99 last week.
