  Currys are doing the TOSHIBA HDEP10 for £148 , which according to some on the AV Forums is a better machine in both playback , multiregion hack capable & build quality .

  I think the £31 difference is worth it for a 3rd generation player (EP10 is 2nd gen), the boot up time is quicker and you get Bourne and 300 HD DVD's in the box. Build quality wise, the only diffrence I can see is the ep10 has a tin casing where the EP30 is plastic. On the multi region point for SD I hear its only certain discs that work, so must would keep their current SD player anyway.

  Sorry to sound like an ass but does HD not care about regions? I travel to US a lot so if any HD player would play the HD DVDs I buy that would be cool

  HD DVD isnt region locked at all .. unlike blu-ray (fanboys attack)

  Its painfully slow. I can cope with 30seconds to play a DVD..but it wont even let you eject your DVD until it has booted up. So if you just want to turn it on to take out your rental,press on....go make a cup of tea, and then come back

  So 1198 Clubcard Points altogether (199 + 999)
  
  1198 Clubcard = £47.92 in Deals etc etc etc blah blah blah.
  
  So 'effectively' this is £151 at Tesco after Deals value. Take off the value of 7 films (@ say £15 'street price') makes it £46......

  Picked up a leaflet for the old list from John Lewis just prior to Christmas valid until 28th Feb. Not sure I'd rate these DVDs at £15. If they were new titles I hadn't seen before maybe but they will be just shelf fillers until I get round to them as I've seen them all before (most of the list/s are mediocre films too).
  Off to checkout If this Tesco's offer is valid.
