Posted this yesterday when it was £149.99. I suspect the price will come down some more since Toshiba have confirmed the HD DVD business is discontinued.

This is acknowledged as a better player than the cheaper Toshiba HD-EP30 with an impressive spec including 7.1 Audio Output. Cheapest available online today?

Amazon offer a 30 day refund of the difference should they drop the price again so you're protected from further price drops.

With HD DVD discs prices set to plummet and excellent upscaling this is a good stop gap until Toshiba shows the current Blu Ray manufacturers how it should be done... ;-)

Oh, and to make sure I get in there first, HD DVD is dead!

Was just thinking, wish I'd bought one of these from Amazon just under a month ago when the 7 free HD DVD offer was still on as I'd now be able to claim the £100 or so difference back and still have got the 5 extra free HD DVDs :(

Will get cheaper with the HD v Blu-ray outcome already known bye bye HD

wasn't this on here the other day for about £60 somewhere? £140 for this isn't really a good deal at all, I'm afraid. And I am an HD DVD advocate.

That was the 30, not the 35.

Personally, I wouldn't give Toshiba any money after folding so easily. Everybody should leave well alone

no nextgen hd players (blu or hd) can do these.

appears they were left out of the specs deliberately after being identified as being too useful.

unlike web acccess and PiP which were must haves as they are pointless.

lol @ikduncan.

@spoonofmilk, please point me towards any deal for the HD-EP35 for less than £100. Trust me, you won't find one...

... yet!

Xbox 360 can play divx AND for peanuts you can add HD-DVD capability ;-)

but neither ps3 or xbox are standalone serious av kit.

as it happens panasonic have got divx certification now for their latest Bluray chipset used in bd30/bd50. so uk bd30 will be divx out of box prob update for us one

Thats progress. How long til profile 2 of Blu-Ray is common so it can finally be said to do everything HD DVD did and more?

summertime? pure speculation. (realistically once theyve cleared stocks of the 1.0 machines!)

be another year before they reach hd-dvd prices (pre firesale)

I'm gonna stick with Xbox Live video marketplace until I either get a PS3 cheap or the prices come down to HD DVD level. Or until I win the lottery ;-)
