Not sure I can call in sick at work on friday.....

I predict a lot of people being let down when Best Buy opens properly. There will be big openingoffers, but having sites in the US, they were actually really expensive in relation to other retailers.

Will they do the same here? I reckon so
#5
it could be one of those offers where they advertise that they have something fantastically cheap say this TV and by law all they have to do is have one in the shop.
lets hope this isnt the case. I want one at this price shame essex is so far away :(

(btw this TV is quite good even though it isnt full HD, Picture is fantastic got the 19" version for the bedroom, its got a special contrast engine thing that makes it better than my large samsung in the lounge)

I am gonna buy this TV ....they got the best deal....... Check out the catalogue guys ..they got Blackberry 8520 curve 99 pounds + 20 pounds top-up.....

Good deal but I doubt you can get one. Prepare for a fight on Friday, there'll be so many people even b4 it's open long queue.

I'd be FAR more interested in the Logitech 1100 remote. Down from an RRP of £379.99 to £99.99!!!!
#11
What about the 8900 and 9700?

32" Tosh for that price, if people manage to get one of these then wow. But if it is a PC world mentality approach of putting a really good deal with limited stock just to get people into the store then thumbs down to them.
#13
publicity stunt...
dont hold your breath!

Where are people getting these prices from?

This reminds me of Currys Megastore opening at Junction 9 M6, Wednesbury 1.5 years ago.

Whilst there were some brilliant deals to be had throughout the whole day (I went on opening evening and got a Sony A200 DSLR for just £199), store was open from 6am til midnight I believe, some of the crazy TV and PS3 deals were very limited in stock, people were queueing from 4-5pm the night before.

I feel this is going to be the same for the opening of these stores, will be some great deals, but stocks most certainly very limited on items like this Toshiba TV that will be gone within 15 minutes of opening, thats if you are lucky (or mad) enough to queue after camping in front of the store overnight.

There's a 50" 1080p 100Hz LG plasma in the catalogue for £500. Is that a cheap deal aswell? I like the look of that. Or, is the plasma technology poor compared to LCD?
#18
Put me down for can't be bothered to queue!

Should be able to link to the online "opening offers" leaflet which contains a shed load of deals with prices attached.

Same question, anyone know?? :?

These prices will be right, they are an opening gimmick to get people instore
#22
lots of load on the TV page...
never loads regardless which browser I'm using!

I just they won't form an alliance with Dixons, Curry and Comet against consumers to get a "fair" share of the market....
#23
Looking at the leaflet, its the same sort of opening deals they had at Currys Megastore Junction 9, M6, as I said earlier, big items like this will have very limited stock.

Looking at the catalogue, and from memories of visiting on the evening Currys Megastore, there will certainly be still some good bargains to be had on smaller items, things like that Sony A230 Camera for £199 (I got the A200 for £199 when Currys megastore opened) and PS3 250GB with Ratchet and Clank, Fifa World Cup 2010 + Remote control for £249, Toshiba Upscaling DVD Player £14.99....printers, other cameras etc etc will be the sort of things you will be able to pick up throughout the day.

Expect to queue for this TV though from the night before.

There's a Samsung 32 inch LED tv in the catalogue for 399 - I think that it a great price.

IT's 590 on amazon!

I would trade my 37 inch panasonic viera for that!

And pointlessly downgrade your viewing size of TV?

lol.

You crazy kids.
#28
when you go there they'll say 'sorry out of stock'....it's just a marketing trick to attract people, they might have a couple of them in stock just to make it real.
#29
That is amazignly cheap. Will be a mad rush to get them at that price!

I doubt it, I would imagine that for one store, they have ordered hundreds of units. they don't want to receive bad press from day one

People have a choice, if they are expensive people will buy elsewhere.

Couldn't have put it better myself.
#33
These guys are notorious in the States for having these awesome looking deals on Black Friday, and in store they have 3. It's all a scam to get people into the shop.
#34
Well i'm going to have a look at the Lakeside store that opens this Friday but won't get there until about 9.15 so not sure what will be left then,if anything.
Was looking at the camcorder they have for £100 as we want one for holiday but it's the same price on Amazon:/
#35
I don't think this company is a threat to Comet, Currys, Dixons etc.

DSGI are ******** themselves.

Four BB sites are being built, one more has been confirmed and 6 more are on the way by this time next year.
#37
Bit disappointed with their laptop deals...
#38
They should have to say how many they have - about 5 I reckon. Spend the night in the queue to have any chance
#39
to be honest, i didnt realise it wasnt already open! i planned of taking a visit just to see what they had on friday anyways.. Maybe i'll get a bargain.. MAYBE i'll give in the car park trying to find a space
#40
