Poor spec compared to the Tesco one posted earlier for an extra £50.

Agree if you are on a £329 budget it probably about best you can get, personally I would rather spend a little more for the superior spec.

Just see they are both with Vista, so I wouldn't touch either, actually. No computer should be sold without Windows 7 because it involves extra cost and hassle.
#6
Agree good price bad that they are selling with Vista...Id rather them sell it with XP. Vista is the worst operating system ever made for it Era.
Good find tho

A 1.8 celeron processor. No thanks. If you can't find better at this money save more for the tesco one.

This is a dual core processor that performs very well for general use. And since it's not gonna be a games powerhouse, performance should be more than adequate.

Just run it on vista, never had a problem with vista on my samsung laptops and windows 7 is still not as good as xp, so many people pulled in by the clever windows 7 marketing unbelievable how gullible people are!!!

Thats a matter of opinion. Loved XP it worked well and since SP2 has been a rock solid operating system. Been using Windows 7 since beta and clever marketing or not, I have found it a dream to use. Vista is ok but over bloated and somewhat rescource hungry so needs plenty of memory. My preference of the 3 is definately Windows 7. But thats just my opinion :)

I could say the same about you. I run XP and I'm happy with it. All those ppl who have changed to Vista and now W7 fall into your gullible category? I think W7 is the better one between those two.

+1. Performance is not too shabby at nearly 1200.

There are plenty of other machines around for this price with much much slower CPU benchmarks around 500.

Vista is the worst operating system ever made

A lot of people get by with it. Myself included.

I've found te biggest problem is some hardware issues, eg my scanner and video capture device. A bit ofpatience and a bit - OK a lot - of googling solved that though!

PS... I loved Windows ME. :-D :whistling:

If this is the same as my Pentium dual core which no doubt it is you will have serious issues with windows7 as the scroll doesn't work and the drivers windows7 installs as the right ones don't work after 4 hours the only way to get it working is with a old Synaptics driver and a Alps plus Toshiba's add on and it randomly freezes.
#15
Its will good if they run these with xp of window 7. we had see that many people are facing problem with vista. In my view XP is still best from others.

I would think this one sounds like a better deal....

(OK It's wrong about the SDD, but spec is better IMO)

I used to think HUKD was full of people who understand the technical aspects of computers (which I don't). Posts like this one are starting to confirm that most are full of hot air!
