good deal indeed but I think in acouple of months all these of the same spec are going to be this price or much lower due to new ranges coming in shortly,

Excellent looking laptop though & not a bad spec

worth 299 - heat added for this reason.

"1,280 x 800 Processor"

So many processors, @_@

Great make, decent spec, good price. I'd rather pay a little extra and get 2GB RAM, but that's just me. It could also be added upgraded to 2GB later, obviously.

Voted hot.

To be honest £300 is about right for the spec. 2gb ram will be about £25, try Play.com

seems a very fair price but you WILL need 2gb RAM if using VISTA (recommended by MS themselves!)

That's a load of rubbish. Windows Vista recommended system requirements recommend "512 MB of system memory" for Home Basic and "1 GB of system memory" for all other editions of Vista. Indeed, they go on to say that a computer with just 512MB of RAM as "Vista Capable" and a coumputer with 1GB of RAM as "Vista Ready".

My desktop PC has just 1GB of RAM and has been running Vista since one month after the official release, doing some fairly memory-intensive stuff (Command and Conquer, Torrents, Video Encoding) and I've not had a single problem.

2GB of RAM would be of advantage, but I don't see it being necessary for most people (or believe that most would ever notice the difference). To suggest that it is a "requirement" of Vista, as "recommended" by Microsoft, would be incorrect.

It sounds as if you don’t multi-task much or you’d find 1GB woefully inadequate. I tend to have the following applications open permanently under XP Pro SP3 and the system’s peak memory usage is in the range 2 – 2.5GB: IE7, Opera, Firefox, Outlook, Word, Excel, iTunes.

It would be interesting to see how the system responded with 1GB installed; I have 4GB with 3.5GB available to Windows.

Help please, is the one above not slightly faster, with more ram and a little cheaper? If so why is it cold as I'm thinking of buying one.

The whole point of a PC is to use it and why would I not use the RAM that I have installed!
