The £399 i3 deals seem to have disappeared lately so this looks a good price too me.

Make sure to regularly charge battery as Tosh batts are poor if you neglect them.

Could say that about any batteries! My sister has a Toshiba laptop for over 4 years and still gets over an hour after full charge!

Ahhhhh i really want to buy this but i don't know if i should pay a bit extra for one with a HD screen and an extra gb of RAM.

I want this Asus but not sure i can justify all that extra money for not a lot of extras.

rather expensive compared to recent deals, only 3gb or ram too. Wonder when we will see £400 core i3 laptops with bluray readers.

Nice deal especially considering the 650-12K is £499 and looking at that one its pretty much the same but with a 320GB HDD instead of this ones 500GB. So better spec and cheaper lol !

what are the recent deals? need a new laptop so if there are better deals let me know. I have seen the carphone warehouse deal at £399 but it doesn't really compete with this.

Integrated graphics and 15" monitor, are these capable of comfortably playing back 1080p mkv video files?

My ten year old PC had a 'HD' screen.

Looks good, think i would rather pay the £23 extra for the tosh with bit more RAM and double the HD and i prefer buying from Amazon but its a good option for dell fans for sure.

I really hate Toshiba. Spent £700 on one less than 2 years ago, the motherboard has gone kaputt 3 times since then. They do not help and ignored my complaints so I'd never buy one again. Just a warning. Buy it is a good deal, apart from the manufacturer.

If they ignored your complaints, you did it wrong.

Haha. Yeah...the tag of 'HD' is like the biggest marketing con ever...

Emailed them, no reply. Spoke to them on the phone and they said because I got it repaired (through toshiba under warrenty mind you) it was no longer their problem. Have no other way of complaining that I can think of unless I write them a letter for them to ignore too.

If the motherboard has failed 3 times its clearly its not fit for purpose and you have proof of that fact.maybe threaten a small claims court case?.

If they didnt help and ignored your complaints how did you get 3 motherboards replaced to even go wrong it makes no sense?

This deal makes more sense than the same priced Core i5 CPU one in another thread - better balanced spec - good price.

Take them to the Small Claim courts - it is really that simple.

2 motherboard under warrenty, 1 out of warranty which I paid for. I don't know if that will work, I emailed customer advice and they said it was the retailer not the manufacturer who I should've contacted but that I was unlikely to get any joy due to going to manufacturer for repairs. Its all very unfair as I had accidental damage cover on it so if I'd lied and say I'd dropped it or lost it I'd have a nice new one by now and wouldn't be £900 out of pocket.
