beware of the keyboard

why, is it dangerous?
#8
good if you can put up with it being plugged in constantly

it's cheaper as its the 3 hours battery not the 6 hour battery one that usually sells for about 220-ish

This is a superb little netbook and winner of several awards. My wife bought one last year and did find that the battery life was poor until we realised that the USB charging port remains on even when the netbook is turned off, drawing current. Disable the USB port from the desktop function and it dramatically increases battery life.

The only minus point is the built in speaker which is feeble. We got a Nokia speaker from Play for about £5.

Excellent screen, responsive keyboard which is near full size and a shock protected hard drive make this a bargain at the Asda price. Highly recommended bit of kit.

Hi,
can any1 clarify whether this qualifies for the £50 cashback offer?
Also, how much would a 6 cell battery cost on it's own?

Good little netbook for the price.

Firstly its a netbook that runs of batteries that run of a charge so of course your going to need to PLUG IT IN , try running your pc of a battery see how long that lasts.
Secondly never had a problem with the keyboard and my kids have used it and if they cant break it well...........

Voted hot

Very good deal for this, heat added.

Good deal on this netbook. Heat added from me.

I own one of these (exact same model) but paid a lot more for mine 7 months ago. :-(

I find the keyboard to be great on mine.

The 3 cell battery lasts about 3 hours without mains power. But as a previous poster mentioned, ensure that the USB Sleep & Charge function is disabled as this will hit your battery life big time.

(To change Sleep & Charge mode go to 'Toshiba USB Sleep and Charge' located in the 'Control Panel')

also remember to switch the Wifi off if using on battery but no network connection required using (Alt- F8). That will also improve battery life.

As previously mentioned the loudspeaker is very feeble, so purchase an external speaker if you like listening to music. The XMI X-mini II Mini Speaker gets very good reviews for the money.

At only 10 quid more for a 6-cell battery, this http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/608284/toshiba-nb200-11l-pll25e-00500gen-c is a much better deal (though you do have to take the trouble to claim the cashback).

Beware the toshiba is very bad at giving the cashback, it will cost you more in phone bills to get the cash back and they always seem to loose the paperwork!

I bought a NB100 with cash back, and it was handled very efficiently
