Just so you know, it doesn't have full Windows 7, it has Windows 7 starter so I wouldn't get so excited. I'm not sure if you realised this so I just wanted to point it out to anybody interested.

Is win 7 starter a scaled down version?. If so I guess that would make it more suited to a netbook.

of course win7 starter, atom netbook wouldn't cope with full win7 - aero graphics interface, but win7 starter is better than win xp which is not going to be supported by Microsoft in the near future

Beg to differ, my atom netbook, PoV Mobii ION, copes perfectly well. Bit of a sweeping statement there.

I'd avoided Win7 on netbooks and stuck with TinyXP for ages but Win7 runs fine - I switch off all the nonsense anyway but it looks good and runs well regardless.

Good price. Wish they'd make more netbooks with higher res screens though. :-/

i got a netbook preloaded with win7 starter. did not like it at all, could not even change the desktop background, and dosent have compatibilities to connect a moniter (even though 99% of netbooks have a VGA port which is silly if u can't use it) i had to upgrade to ultimate and its all good :). i have a dual core netbook with 2gb ram so it could handle it, not sure if n455 cpu and 1gb ram can handle it though

Seems ideal to me - my MSI netbook has just died and refuses to charge (new battery and new charger purchased) so this would make a great replacement.

Windows 7 Starter is just to restrictive. It was produced to simplify Netbooks (and cheaper) however seems to have thrown out the baby with bathwater...

Home Premium (and upwards) runs fine

As to this Netbook doesn't seem to offer much above all the rest at that price (from ebay outlets etc.) so cool really

Not really half price - it's only 50% off rrp. Nobody would have paid £300 for it. It's £221.38 at Dabs

I paid £189.99 for this about 6 months ago, great for using the internet, essays on word, watching films online etc, also very lightweight and fits in a handbag haha!

Does that work? My experience with Linux and netbook is quite mixed - a lot of them use some unusual hardware that is not fully supported. I guess it still beats Windows 7 Starter, but be warned.

i reckon this tosh should be well supported.. Ubuntu Netbook Edition should be fine. Not sure about OS X on this, but am sure ifs possible with a bit of fiddling.
