11hr battery sounds awesome, if it had a 768 resolution I'd be right in there, but too much to ask unfortunately!

Not in a month of Sundays will you get 11hrs. I have never understood netbooks, especially at £300, you can pick up a proper laptop for not much more.

These things are ok if all you want to do is browse the web on a small screen.

No offence intended, just my opinion.

Netbooks are meant for easy use on the go. They aren't just meant to be some kind of cheap laptop. Some of them just happen to be relatively low cost. The key features are light weight and long battery life so that they are easy to carry and use for long periods without mains power.

Many full size laptops are only really luggable and are mostly used with the mains power connected as a desktop substitute.

Chaves will be voting this cold because its not a Samsung,
Cheapskates will be voting this cold because its not 149.99, as all they see is the price.

Lol, even so, for them to put 11hrs, I'd probably get 8 or 9. My NC10 said 6 and I often get 5 with moderate use, unfortunately mine is now falling apart so need to buy something new, and am thinking of going back to a 12" - there is a £500 Acer with 8hr battery and great specs I've got my eye on, fortunately it is also very light and netbook-esque.

My reasoning for loving netbooks is that when at college I would take it with me - it's nice and light, highly usable for typing documents etc and playing older games (red alert etc) in a bit of free time. The battery lasted for the whole day and it was no heavier than a textbook or two to lug up 2 hills. I am back at university in October and will once again have a need for a machine with these features.

It's funny that only since I've been using the NC10 every day as a home machine has it started developing problems, namely with the power socket and screen flickering.

Edit - should of said the 250gb hard drive on this is fantastic, my old 12" laptop only has 120gb, and my NC10s 160gb is already full.

Swopped my NC10 to 320Gb /2gb/ win 7 and an N card :) It's ideal, around 5-6 hours useage. The downside is the 1024x600 standard netbook resolution and it needs more to be of real use. Non-glossy screen though. The Toshiba 205 at Carphone warehouse had the glossy screen, how anyone can look into that I don't know? This new 305 I thought I read somewhere was a matte screen - or maybe just certain models? If you get Quidco cashback price is ok, but as someone said, £300 for a netbook is a bit steep.

How about this? Im typing on it now! Admittedly, they cost over a grand but it's proper pc performance in a teeny tiny package!
