Sorry- new to this, if some could change the link for me that would be great...

Not that google shopping is anything to go by but here is a list of other sellers selling this laptop. Majority of them are over £1000!

They honoured Nexus 7 for £150 then 14 quid cashback:)

Ordered... will see:)

Saw this last night and thought about buying one but the spec is pretty low, the form factor is weird and generally think it's all a bit compromised, the only plus I could identify for it was the screen resolution; better off with a more recent normal laptop.
#9
Ordered, does anyone know if comes with the digitizer pen?
#10
Ordered, pleased if honored - Haswell processor, high resolution screen and great port selection.

Tablet also very light for the power provided

i5-3339Y is a low powered Ivybridge but reviews suggest it has better batter life than Haswell, at a slightly reduced performance

Thanks

it looks like this model does not have a digitizer, that sucks. Don't know why anyone would pick this over the surface pro 2at the rrp price. Crazy!

I want to like the Surface pro 2 more than I actually do. It's a great tavket (though heavier than the Toshiba) but it simply isn't a credible laptop replacement (try it on your lap if you are in any doubt - I personally feel uncomfortable as it just feels like it is going to fall off mt lap - I haven't tried the Surface Pro 3 yet but suspect that in spite of the multi-angle stand I will still be disappointed. This simply looks like the best value Tablet/Laptop replacement available at the moment.

My quidco tracked at £18 so £282 for me. Still gutted about no pen.

"A thousand pounds you say?"

I can't tell, one review says this model comes with the wacom Digitiser pen. Seems a bit strange to mold one of the (emergency) pens into the case then not supply the other one. Ordered, we'll see. (I'll post also if Staples cancel my order). My last Toshiba Portégé (an M100, Centrino Pentium-m 1.4) gave me 10 years of error free use, I like Toshiba Portégés! So it seemed a bit rude not too, TCB tracked at £27.27, so £272.73.

There are pro versions that come with the pen, this version and I think it is the Z10T-A106 based on the chipset does not have the pen nor does it have the digitizer screen, so you could not even buy the pen to use it.

BTW you can get this just as a tablet, the part number is WT310-108.

You must have only just missed out.
mbrown956 had another post at the time, deleted, regarding calculating the cashback incorrectly. So must have been just after mbrown956 posted his posts. One ordered, not 50 ;)

Did anyone actually get one?

Order cancelled as well, oh well. 1st and last time ordering from these guys.
#27
Actually the e-mail does not explain why they are trying to sell them if the have none in stock.
#28
And cancelled at 09:05 this morning, as expected I guess.....
#29
Back in stock again, I quickly put an order through before reading this page of the thread. Ah well, expecting a cancellation email any moment then!

Bit cheeky for them to keep putting it up for sale again when they clearly know they have none to sell though :( I guess that their stock system has made the cancelled orders available again..only to be cancelled again until someone fixes the root cause!

They are probably cancelling orders (it comes back in stock) and reallocating stock to staff members. Not a sceptic at all! They did this last time with the £250 iPad 4 32GB.

Any way we can complain about this?
#32
Why bother complaining you'd be wasting your own time and energy.
#33
Indeed, sadly until payment is taken and your order is "processed", they can do what they like. It's very poor customer service but all completely legal, unless you can prove intent to deceive from the outset (rather than a mistake or unrelated commercial decision at a later date).

That said, anyone got a link to details about what happened with the iPad? More because I am curious rather than wanting to use it for anything :)

Still not had a cancellation email myself but given that they normally "process" orders within 2 hours in my experience, i'm still expecting one later on.

edit: just had a cancellation phone call, ah well c'est la vie, it was only a deal due to the price - ive got enough outdated tech as it is!

Any way we can complain about this?

If it was M&S, Yes (and maybe be successful), but we're talking Staples, bottom rung Customer Service here, Argos is the same.
(Conplaining), the outcome of which would mean that these offers would never exist, so your not actually any better off either way.
Its a bit like complaining about Airline Credit Card fees, end result: Easyjet add an £11 Adminisration fee per booking. Ok, cheaper if you book more than one flight, but 99% are still paying 'administration fee' as part of the total fare paid. Same thing, different name.

For the clever ones, they went from Visa Debit, to Visa Electron, to Mastercard Prepayment, to Ryanair Passport (jumping through the hoops) to avoid fees, so the end result, was actually worse than what we were doing to avoid the fees, before OFT (Office of Fair Trading) got involved.

Best way, is just to always post on here if you were successful or not, that way people see the 'numbers' for themselves, and know in the future whether its going to be a waste of time. I have to admit, I did suspect it was a waste of time, given the iPad 4 offers 2 weeks ago (very similar).

If the publicity Staples are getting from these sorts of phantom offers is overall 'negative' they will think twice about trying to pull the wool over their customers. I mean how difficult is it to list a item online, you know will be popular, and keep a bit of stock back for simultaneous orders all received at once and/or limit to 1 per address. Staples are headline grabbing, pure and simple.

Haha, the website says 'available' again, so I've only gone and ordered it again. It's a war of attrition!
