Fantastic price, great PDA, but a crap mobile phone.

Yeah crappy phone.

If it was £100, at that price it's in netbook territory - thought it is much smaller / better batt life / built in GPS ... swingggggs and roundabouts.

It is still poor with the newer firmware. I have my phone refunded.

new rom solves most issues

but not very low max volume and the other hardware foibles...

Bought two to play with for the afternoon and then pass on.

Most of my apps didn't work properly with the odd screen resolution. The speaker phone function is diabolical. And yes, the volume is much too low.

I did like the built quality of the thing. It feels very very solid. In fact I had to resort to physical violence, every time I wanted to get the battery compartment open.

This thing feels like a concept phone, that is 4 or 5 revisions away from it's final design. Can't believe that Toshiba considers this thing fit for public sale.

Sold both to CEX for a small profit.

a shame, I was willing to go for one until i read up about the severe hardware flaw (esp. speaker!), would have loved using that resolution, especially for remote desktop!!!

When I first flapped it open and saw they keyboard I wanted to keep one for myself. It has the best keyboard, since the Psion 5MX.

The included stylus it is a very strange looking telescopic design and the screen is behind a very thick protective plate, that makes it difficult to use at angles.

I think that Toshiba and HTC should sit down and design/built a device together. Might come up with the perfect phone that way.
