why is it the big question?

it's a 3.5" drive, therefore DOES require external power. :whistling:

That's the norm - if it's 2.5" you can run off USB power, if it's 3.5" you can't. :thumbsup:

I don't htink they're awful, but they have a pretty bad reputation when it comes to returns, replacements and refunds. As long as your order goes well and you're happy with the product, everything should be fine.

Don't think anyone's missed anything here, doesn't seem like that good a deal when you can get 1TB externals for around £60-70 these days. This might be a faster drive, but that's not really going to benefit you that much to be honest...
