Great machine but way too expensive for me. Will wait for the new Sandy Bridge Dell XPS 17 / Nvidia 550M lappy that will be out early in 2011. I'm guessing this will be about £650 - £800 depending on spec.

Cheapest I can find so hot from me
The idea is to rate on the best price not the fact that you deem it silly to spend 1500 on a laptop

Dont bother posting any form of PC components or builds or even accessories for gaming/multimedia etc on here, as 90% of this site is full of clueless inbreds who think their 17" Dell welfare that cost 300 quid from PC World is just as good.

i have £300 acer, and a £206 320gb ps3 for gaming, still £1000 cheaper than this!

Your trying to compare console gaming to PC gaming? That statement shows just how uneducated you are in the subject. PC gaming always has been and always will be vastly superior to any form of console gaming.

the only way it's superior is monetry, a console is dedicated to gaming, the pc has too much going on to run os and gaming, hence the big bucks to do both!

Guys I feel that the comments made about PCs being superior to consoles and the fact they always will be is image quality and fps, consoles will ALWAYS be in the wake of PC's hardware wise, though dedicated hardware gives you the ability to squeeze a lot more from the console hardware, its still last years biscuit tin compared

And although I am sure its lovely to have a £300 laptop and a ps3. Do either of these do what this laptop does? i.e PORTABLE GAMING TO EXTREME STANDARDS, simple answer NO

Consoles are cheap as they are dedicated (mass produced) I myself really enjoy playing certain games on consoles (mostly racing fighting etc) shoot em ups etc should be left to the computers as aim assist and all the other crap they shove on consoles to make things PLAYABLE is well... not for me, but that's my personal opinion

As someone has most definitely ALREADY mentioned, HUKD is all about 'This is a super price for this bit of kit, if you can find it cheaper comment' if your not gonna buy something, good for you, doesn't mean its COLD, if you can/could buy same tech cheaper elsewhere, cold it and state WHY. If you dont know why the laptop is so expensive (you dont know much about computers etc) thats not necessarily a bad thing, but dont let that lack of knowledge become a frosty counter to the fact this IS a hot deal, the laptop is CONSIDERABLY more elsewhere and as I discovered via a guy at work who actually got this laptop just yesterday and was annoying me by how uber it is today in work, it really was a bargain. I paid more for a laptop years ago that had a DVD burner 1gb ram 80gb hdd and a 9600m PRO (was cutting edge back then) and although my wallet (and ass) stung as a result of this, got many MANY hours of portable gaming and lan party fun underway. This is for the serious GAMERS, I mean it is seriously cool/extremely amusing, to arrive at a lan party watch all the people around you getting their pcs out, screens, keyboards, mice, speakers, wiring stuff up for 10-15 mins etc and you just pull your laptop out of your bag, get your mouse out and log in for a night of lan based carnage

I would buy one if I could justify the cost, and if it wasnt for the fact I had just bought

P.S. Heat added OP, bargain price, I was gonna post this myself (guy at work got same deal via Currys) but tbh glad I didnt as the cold flaming (as you might have noticed above) really ticks me off when its FAR from justified just proves how bloody ignorant some people can be and their lack of understanding of things (like what HUKD's actual purpose/design is for)

No wonder this is reduced as there is a new Intel mobile platform released in 2 weeks or so. That has better performance, higher efficiency and supports switchable graphics which adds up to much better battery life for general usage and better thermals.
I think nVidia is releasing new mobile GPUs at the same time also!
So expect some good deals on the older tech which will obviously still be good but just don’t over pay.

might be expensive - but still better value than a Mac
