My mate had one of these. Might just be a one off but he's had no end of problems. Screen flickering. Power loss etc. Constantly on the phone ot Comet who seemed very unhelpful

As a rule I steer clear of reconditioned products. You're better off paying that little bit more for the new one. The warranty wouldn't even attract me because you're probably going to have to make full use of it! A warranty should be there as a safety net. More hassle than it's worth for a fairly expensive price.

expensive? £329.99 for a 17" intel dual core 2ghz with a 250gb sata, most refurbished are basically new anyway...

Just about the same spec as the £350 new one the other day.

Must agree here

Myself and friends / collegues have had DSG refurb lappys and they have been as new and no problems but a mate at work bought a Toshiba laptop last week from Comet and when it was delivered the power supply brick was dead, so he managed to get a local comet store to swap it out after a lot of hassle as it was for his daughters 16th the next day. anyway got it charged then found a group of keys on the keyboard were not functioning - so after numerous phone call to Comet CS they have agreed a refund as no replacement is available.

obviously no quality control.....
