I bought this, brilliant telly. Really is, picture i can't fault, audio can be a bit off at some points... but usually okay!

Also the screen itself gets v ery hot, so i'm not sure about energy consumption on this television, just something to be aware of!

From Dixons website:

Standby power consumption 0.5 watts Power usage when switched on Standby
On power consumption 160 KWh/24hr Power usage when up and running

Not sure how that compare to other TVs

The 160KWh figure is bogus. That equates to running a 6.66kW appliance for 24 hours. That's same electricity usage as 67 100W incandescent light bulbs, 240 energy saving light bulbs, or two 3.3kW heaters.

According to Comet
http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/526436/TOSHIBA-32AV615DB/tab/specification
It's 111 Watts in use, which is dubiously good. That equates to 111Watt hour or 0.111 KWH of an hour's usage, or 2.664kWH over a 24 hour always on period.

Is this full HD or 720p?
#15
I got this about two weeks ago. its a nice telly overall however the channel info blocks more than half the screen right in the middle, you can minimize it up to channel number only, which in itself is the size of an small envelope, just about half an a5 sheet!!

i hav this its a great tv
#17
Looks great. Doubt the missus will allow me to get one though!

720p

Generally a very Good tv especially for the price, I got one a little while ago on amazon. Just a couple of thing I'll point out its a little slow to show channel info/program guide. Menus look a little cheap and has no where near as many customizable options as a Sony.
#20
Audio: tiny. Picture: brilliant. Banner info: very, very annoying.

In addition, if you want 1080p (plus 100hz) cheapest you're going to find is probably around £400.

Had this since Easter - very happy. Heat added

This place makes me laugh. This goes over 500 degrees, even though its cheaper at Dixons, and you get Quidco there too. And this has been posted countless times.

Not quite sure why you need to say "still available" a day later either :) Its been this price or lower for weeks

I ordered this earlier tonight for my sister. Great TV at a fantastic price. Got it with Amazon, as I've got a free Prime trial with them. That and I hate Dixons.

How do you turn it off?

I am not up at all on the 720 1080 thing - I was thinking of buying this as a stopgap, eventually relegating it to the bedroom when I can afford a 50" plasma.

For general broadcast TV watching, is there much of a difference?
