Any bargains to be had on that one then?

EDIT: Seems like the best price is Amazon again, but it is more expensive:

Right guys, am in the market for a new TV.

This TV seems OK but other 32" TVs have been on here around the 300-350 mark.
Does anyone own this TV and is it good?

Also this set
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-32XV555DB-Widescreen-1080p-Freeview/dp/tech-data/B0013HKTF0/ref=de_a_smtd

has a hell of alot more reviews than the one on here. Does anyone know if its an older set?
#13
for all those out there who do not know , the eye cannot pick the detail that 1080p on a tv this size........

lol.....Tosh are nowhere near the same class as pioneer (the best), and panasonic (2nd best tv's). They got an absolute pounding in most reviews.
Asda Onn brand = del boy's rust bucket
Tosh = Trabant
Sony/Samsung = Ford/Vauxhall
Panny = Audi//Merc/BMW
Pioneer = Rolls Royce/Ferrari

The 32XV555DB is an older model but as stated earlier spec-wise it could be considered better due to it boasting 24p and 100Hz... One less HDMI socket but that is no biggy IMO.
The 32XV555DB gets generally really good reviews and is excellent for its price range, the newer 32RV635DB has yet to my knowledge to have a proper review so could be the bees knees - it's just untested.

So if you guys were to buy a tv which would you got for out of Toshiba and Samsung.

Sony and the others are a little out of budget at the moment.

I have my eye on Toshiba 32XV503 1080p (is this tosh a very old model) or would you go for that or a samsung only 768.

Please advise really struggling to make my mind up here. I mean i could get a Tosh for about £390 including delivery with one years manufac g'tee or do i get a 768 Samsung with 5 years g'tee from JL.

I use it alot for PC.

Many thanks in advance.

Hiya,

Ive signed up to Which online right now and the best tv they recommend (from all sizes)
is this...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-TX-32LZD80-Widescreen-1080p-Freeview/dp/B0015LV99Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1244668868&sr=8-1

BTW this is available at Comet as stated on Which for £499

Oh you can, you just need to be about 3ft away!

you are the only one who can then...anyway you shouldnt be that close for optimal viewing...dur!!:roll:
1080p may have a benefit if linking a pc to the tv, but tbh you would be better off spending more on a much higher quality but slightly smaller monitor

Toshiba appear to be doing quite well with their latest reviews online although very few of the 32 inch models have yet to be review by what lcd and plasma mags etc. Here this RV reviewed at CNET and it gives it 8/10.

IMHO, If you want to play it safe then go for the panasonic txl-32x15 available for around £463 with the 5TV code and topcashback at dixons.

If you view mostly Standard Definition (non blu ray or ps3) signals and want to spend less then this new toshiba has got a very good review and is only £350 at Amazon.

A friend got it 2 days ago and I am impressed with it but I decided to get the 32RV635 for the higher spec. This amazon deal is showing as a promotion on the Toshiba website http://www.home-entertainment.toshiba.co.uk/Regza-LCD-TV/30-39-LCD-TV-screen-size/32-Regza-RV635-Series/?showBy=size. The only other site having it at a similar price is DIXONS. In CURRYS (same company as Dixons) it is selling at £479.99 and in ARGOS £599.99. I do not believe that the older 32XV555 is a better option

We like:
Simple but pleasant design; good menu systems; easy to use; simple remote with large buttons; good picture quality; 1080p resolution; four HDMI inputs; decent sound

We don't like:
There's really not much to dislike here

8/10 and EDITORS CHOICE :thumbsup:
