The stunning High Definition Toshiba 32WLT66 arrives with an integrated digital tuner for access to free to air channels as well as a Top up TV slot for additional channels. This impressive set features a 1366 x 768 resolution for a sharp detailed picture and an impressive 1200:1 contrast ratio for deeper blacks.

The 32WLT66 also features automatic Active Vision picture processing. This technology incorporates 4 different scanning modes that are designed for different types of viewing. Active mode is ideal for everyday viewing such as soaps and documentaries, Natural mode is best for fast action movies, 100Hz mode is the option for sporting events and Progressive scan is perfect for viewing DVDs.

This television is high definition ready which means it has the ability to display high definition signals with the addition of a separate HD receiver. HD broadcasts are at a much higher resolution than regular analogue or digital broadcasts and have greatly enhanced picture quality. The level of detail is astonishing with clearer, sharper and more vibrant images.

AFAIK, 5% off through Quidco as well !

£200 price difference here

Also £699 for this TV is no way a bargain.

Well to be fair that's the version with the Freeview included and the 5 year guarantee aint bad but whether it's worth the extra £200 is another matter :)

You have to look at the equivalent offers for the WLT model:

Lets see with DigitalDirect their price :

32WLT66 : 556.90
5 year guarantee: 229
Delivery: 19.99
Total: 805 £ !!! (AFAIK, no Quidco for DigitalDirect)

JohnLewis on the other hand:

32WLT66 : 699
Quidco: - 34.95
Total: 664.05

Sorry but for me thats a bargain especially considering the 5 year guarantee !

I got same set from Dixons for £541.50 (inc. using 5% off egg card) a few weeks ago. Statistically, these tv's don't break down much within first 5 years. Therefore I don't think paying an extra 30% to cover the 4 year period (assuming every tv gets a standard 12 month warranty) is good value for money

You may want to try getting a price from Empire Direct as JL will price match them provided that the TV is in stock. You also get the 5 yr guarantee included even though you wouldn't get this from Empire Direct. p.s. we have this tv and are very happy with it. The sound and picture quality are great!

I probably change my TV by then. The 1 year Manufacturing warrenty will do me. The thing with LCD is if nothing goes wrong within the first 6 months, the chances are they wouldn't.

I would get John Lewis to price match the empire direct price. This would mean you get the tv from John Lewis at £579.99 with 5 year warranty
#8
Just checked the John Lewis website, and they say they only do price matching instore. that would exclude price matching with online retailers ?
#9
Empire Direct have got about 10 or 11 stores and I have succesfully price matched them in the past. They will do it over the phone quite happily, usually takes a couple of days
#10
This is a reasonable deal

When I originally bought my 32WL66 (Non Freeview version) from Empire direct it was £615 with 5 year gaurentee.

The price of the Toshiba TV's has dropped now and in fairness It all depends on whether you care about extended warranty or not

I bought this tv for £580 a few months ago with Dixons. Great TV! Not a great deal OP.
#12
Any ideas where the Empire Direct stores are located?
#14
Thanks! but how do i get John Lewis to price match and get the quidco cash back as well, if the price match is done over the phone or instore then no quidco?
#15
Just checked with the Empire Direct Store in Romford and they dont have the 32wlt66 in stock (no clue as to when it will come back in). Went to my local john lewis in my lunch break (canary wharf) , and they will only do the price match if the item is in stock with the retailer. The sales guy in John Lewis was surprised that online they still had 32wlt66 available, as he thought that they were discontinued according to head office.

I got JL to price match empire direct on the 37" version (about £745) about a month ago and got a 5 year guarantee - Very happy with it. The price match is in store only, 5 year guarantee worth a lot more that quidco. It was a bit of a hassle but I save £155 and got the guarantee.
