Toshiba 37C3030 - 37" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview - Black is £599 or less delivered @ Dixons

5% instant cashback via Egg card (~ £30) or 4% via Quidco. Some claim you can use both.. Pls note that this TV is also available from Digital Direct for £589 but I prefered to post Dixons due to the deal being cheaper after cashback. Use code 20JULYAW to get this price.

Description : Toshiba's state-of-the-art REGZA C3030D LCD TV range is design and technology focused to be at the forefront of the High Definition revolution. The REGZA C3030D models feature Toshiba's acclaimed Active Vision LCD picture processing technology. This high performance system reproduces three times more pixels and four times more colour tones than conventional LCD TVs for dramatic, lifelike pictures. With standard features including a built-in Freeview tuner, twin HDMI sockets and HD scaling, it is easy to see why Toshiba's REGZA C3030D LCD TVs lead the way in High Definition entertainment.

I've been watching this one closely over the last few weeks, it was £579.00 with the Dixons code a fortnight ago, but has gone back up. Still a great price as it's £849 in my local Currys :)

Is this a good TV then? TIA!

Its an excellent TV!
Empiredirect have them on sale for £614...

I would personally get John Lewis to price match the empire direct offer, then buy from them (5 year guarentee)..

Here's a link to a 52 page (and climbing) forum discussion on the 3030d:

OK, just dusted off my egg card and according to egg's site it's 7% instant cash back at Dixons.co.uk :w00t: (Until 31/7/07)

Cheekyboy, my nearest John Lewis is ~200 mile round trip, is there anyway I can do the price match online / telephone with delivery? I've read they will price match this TV at £599. It does make sense with the warranty.

Ok so this is easy now..Just contact your JL (thats 200 miles away) and ask them to price match the Trafford store. Simple!
To be sure, you could contact the Trafford store and ask them how much they are selling for..You'll be surprised at the price difference between stores..

After a few phonecalls back and fore, I've purchased it over the phone from JL Bristol for £599 delivered and 5 year warranty. Can't go wrong.

May be worth updating the deal on this thread, bearing in mind the warranty?

Thanks Demotic and Cheekyboy :)

Wouldn't touch Pixmania with a barge pole (or someone else's barge pole!)

I voted cold, it's really not that great a deal!

Pixmania have the freeview-less version of this set for under £500. For £100 you can get a very, very good freeview box

http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/549831/art/toshiba/37c3000pg-lcd-regza-tv.html

Theres a discount code for £11 off £400 so it comes to £497.70 delivered

I know some people don't trust Pixmania, but the same can be said for Dixons. They are now the same company!

Agreed 100%, too many bad reports.

I bought a 32" Samsung from Pixmania last month for £450 with a code. It wasn't big enough and I didn't like the gloss black finish. I sent it back to Pixmania within 14 days to Parcelforces's UK depot (via Parcelforce) at my own cost of ~£20 insured. I had a full refund within 2 weeks. However, based on some of the horror stories I read afterwards regarding warranty returns, I'd rather pay a few quid extra for piece of mind and buy from JL :)

According to Pixmania's website, the 37C3000PG has a contrast ratio of 3500:1 compared to the 37C3030DB's 5000:1

Wouldn't buy from them, and wouldn't want an extra box. Hot! ;-)

I've never had any trouble with Pixmania myself but i have read some reviews and some people have had bad experiences. But what i will point out is that after looking on a few shopping sites they have a better overall reputation than eBuyer, Comet, Currys, Dell, HMV and the list goes on. Are we to ignore better deals if they come up on these sites now? (im basing a lot of this on reviews and store ratings on Kelkoo btw)

The extra box point is a fair one, but personally i find Sky+ a godsend. If i ever did downgrade to freeview i'd be using a HDD Recorder anyway, negating the need for inbuilt freeview. Also worth noting is that HD Terrestrial broadcasts will happen one day and the built in tuner won't accept them. You'll end up with a box in the end anyway :)

I'd go with what Toshiba France's site says; Contraste Dynamique : 5000:1
My french may not be very good but i think that means it has a 5000:1 contrast ratio. All the other specs are identical to the C3030D too (bar Freeview)
