I know this has been posted but its expired, so here is the new price. Not available until mid April, but cheapest i've found so far. You could buy the 40V3000 or pay an extra 83 quid and get extra 2 inches, 25:000:1 contrast and 10 bit colour processing, GAME mode ! 10bit colour is a bonus as I assume it could support the full HDMI 1.3 spec.

# Dynamic Contrast Ratio: 25,000:1

42XV503DB is the model number for the internet and supermarkets
42XV505DB is the model number for high street stores

Interesting, cos according to a statement from Toshiba they are the same TV, but Toshiba gave them different numbers just like Samsung did. This is an official Toshiba statement from avforums.com.

I'll probably go with this as i've had **** with Sharps, heard 1000s of whinings about Samsung. I dont hear much whining about Toshibas.

699 price I think is a misprice that was on previous, I think if I saw it I would have snapped it up. You could always cancel before delivery :( .

so it'll be a Sharp tv in disguise then, soon like sony's (which are currently sony/samsung in disguise).....well ok there is more a tv than a panel
sony panels are made by currently samsung/sony...from april samsung/sony or sharp
samsung.......samsung/sony
panasonic.......panasonic/canon/hitachi
LG....LG Philips
Philips...LG Philips
there are plenty of other panel makers in china / taiwan / korea

Sharp , oh no, i'm worried now seeing as I set back 2 Sharp 46XL2Es because of black marks and banding and got a refund, and everybody is whining about it on avforums.

Maybe comes from a different plant ?

Sooo, have I read this correct that Toshiba is in fact Sharp, whom I would not touch if it was the last one on the clearance shelf.
Thanks

The £699 wasn't a misprice. It was that price for two maybe three days (I posted the deal last week). The fact it then went up to £749 suggests to me that they put the price up due to high demand (understandible given the spec and low price). I fully expect the £599 37XV to go the same way. And yes you can order and then cancel (as long as its before they dispatch). I know because I did just that (ordered and then cancelled a day later as the girlfriend talked me out of it :( )

Dunno why this has not got more heat as its 250 - 300 pounds cheaper than any other sitess selling this TV, including digital direct ????
