Price seems correct for the non 1080P model.
Look at the vertical resoultion

Yeah isn't the model before this the 42WLT66 a higher resolution and display in HD 1080i ?
I would have snapped one up of that price if they had kept the same resolution, why release a new model with lower specs.

Anyway good find, someone will want one

the 1080i panel wasn't bad but customer comlained about having a crap picture from standard / freeview chanels. also the viewing angle wasn't the best for the WLT66 series. also their QA wasn't good enough people complaining that their housing wasn't fitted nicely and some had many bad pixels.

even though it is not the full 1080p panel, it is still a very very good price and has all the bells and whistles, 3 HDMI, twin tuner ( analogue/digital ) and many connections. the actual contrast would be around 1200-1500 as the new sony range.

I have placed an order and for normal DVD and TV pleasure, it is perfect. Also HD material will look awesome on these and the resolution will be just fine. Toshiba's new picture engine will take care of that. Most current sony 40 and 46 inch were still only 1366er panels, only the latest W and X series is a full 1080p.

in case you don't like the TV, you always can return it and Amazon's customer service is execellent. Nothing to loose with 14 days distance sale.

My 2 cents.

Oh yikes I am getting lost on all these threads on what is what with resolution and pixels. Arghhh.

I'm hoping after Christmas there will be a big drop in prices!!

I think it was a misprice as it's no longer available via that link but the TV is there for £1729 elsewhere on the site. Good luck to those that got it!

*waits patiently*

But worried about this one, I bought a 32wlt66 previously which went back due to crappy VGA support, specifically the dreamcast not working through it. :-(

Does anyone know any high street retailers that have these in stock where I could do some testing?

The 32WLT68 is in stock in my local Comet so guess they could be in stock nationwide. I would guess that the 42 would be similar on the VGA.

Cheers, I'd forgot about Comet. I'll give them a try on tomorrow when they're a bit quieter.
