Description
The REGZA SV series combines HD Ready 1080p picture processing with our stunning Deep Lagoon design. The REGZA SV Series includes our LED Local Dimming Backlight technology This allows brighter highlights and deeper shadows to be portrayed through the dimming or intensifying of backlights in corresponding areas. LED and Active Vision M200HD picture processing allows you to experience Toshibas clearest, smoothest picture to date.

Features
LED Local Dimming: LED local dimming offers brighter images, faster response times and the ability to produce the blackest blacks ever delivered on an LCD TV. REGZA Precise Dimming offers 128 indiviual LED lights that work separately to one another to produce the most precise and accurate picture reproduction ever seen on a Toshiba REGZA LCD TV
Resolution Plus: Resolution+ allows your LCD TV to display standard definition images at near high definition, with improved edge detail and better textural content of the final image
Active Vision M200HD Pro: Active Vision M200HD picture processing allows you to experience Toshibas clearest, smoothest picture to date. This new technology inserts black sections in-between frames to produce a smoother, clearer picture. As LCD TVs use a hold technology to produce a picture if this picture is broken up with black sections this tricks the mind into seeing smoother images due to the hold not lasting as long
4 x HDMI: High-Definition Multimedia Interface is an all-digital audio/video interface capable of transmitting uncompressed streams. HDMI provides an interface between any compatible digital audio/video source and video monitor
Full Power Down: Your Toshiba LCD TV can now be fully turned off when you do not want to leave it on stand by mode
Digital Approved Product: Allows a TV to receive free-to-view digital broadcasts through its standard aerial with no need for an additional digital decoder box
Meta Brain: Not all TVs are born equal. MetaBrain is Toshibas uniquely developed processing chip that acts as the brain of TV. MetaBrain drives certain features on the TV such as Resolution+, AutoView as standard features as well as variations of Active Vision Picture Processing and on selected models Dolby Volume
Auto View: Auto View not only takes into account the room lighting but also analyses the content being shown in real time. The ambient light sensor constantly adjusts the LCDs backlight depending on the lighting condition in the room to provide a better viewing experience. In light rooms backlight is increased, in dark rooms backlight is dimmed
Full HD Ready 1080p: The highest definition signal currently available carries which 1080 horizontal lines of information progressivvely scanned to create a high definition image (1920 x 1080)
Dolby Volume: Ever noticed how the volume differentiates between different channels, and advertising commercials? Dolby Volume is the audio solution that monitors and controls the volume of different channels and advertising commercials, to keep a constant sound when the content you watch constantly changes. Dolby Volume effectively means you will not be constantly picking up the remote control and adjusting the volume of the TV
Dolby Digital Plus: Dolby Digital Plus is the next-generation audio technology for all high-definition programming and media. It combines the efficiency to meet future broadcast demands with the power and flexibility to realize the full audio potential of the upcoming high-definition experience. With Dolby Digital Plus, you get even higher quality audio, more channels, and greater flexibility
DLNA: Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) allows you to do just that. Created to help products communicate with each other, DLNA helps your TV and PC share information simply by using your remote control even if theyre in totally different rooms

How is this a 'good deal'? :S

I don't want to start an argument - you can take many views on this, it's a good deal if you have the money to spend, unfortunately I don't - I'm still waiting for blu-ray to come down to the same price as DVD before I jump in. If it never does then I'll never have it!

Happy to stay 1 step behind :-)

Well it's a grand cheaper than it is at Play ant even they are claiming to sell at £500 less than RRP!

This isn't necessarily aimed at you as I don't know if you voted but I don't see why people vote cold just coz they personally don't think something is value for money (regardless of whether it's still comparatively a good price) or worse still if they have no idea what it is they're voting on! There will be people in the market for LED tv's and this certainly appears to be a good price for this model.

Edit: Reviews don't look encouraging so it may not be worth the money but it doesn't change the fact that it's a good price for anyone in the market for this telly.

Just to clear up the confusion on your end. This is an LCD TV, not LED. Toshiba and Samsung are only claiming they are LED TVs when actually, they're LCDs with some LED lighting. They're really not worth the money at all.

Story of my life. Got the 37" red LCD from sainsburys for sub-£300 earlier this year and well happy with it. My lack of super vision refuses to allow me to tell the difference between a £600 TV and a £300 one. Also, not 100% sure what the huge difference is between DVD and blu-ray. so until I'm completely convinced I'm going to spend my hard earned cash on holidays instead!

Haha, well it seems I don't know what I'm talking about then but I must admit I thought what is commonly referred to as an LED TV was a mixture of LCD pixels with LED back lighting. To be honest I was just going by the title of the thread which states LED TV, I didn't look too much into anything else.

Like I said though, worth the money or not, it seems voting cold is a bit unfair as this is still a good deal for this particular tv no matter how good or bad it is.
