Don't forget reliable! I still got my toshiba satelite from 5 years ago and it's still running strong! Voted hot!

Mine must be 4yrs old now. Very reliable even with the Vista upgrade I put on it. I'd think this is good value for money if this this is the kind of price you want to pay...
Hot from me

Had mine a few years, very heavy use. Did have a problem that the local IT fella sorted with a couple of parts.

Theres no webcam. Been looking for a decent laptop for a while, this looks ideal, i might finally be able to have my own laptop instead of trying to wrestle this one from my teenage son. Thanks voted hot hot hot

Intel® GMA X3100 shared graphics. I think when you are paying near 400 ish you should be getting a reasonable graphics card just to future proof it. Of course if you are only going to use this for simple wordprocessing and office task then fine but then why not go for one under £300 that is still able to perform these tasks (and you can get good brand names).

No bluetootth, wireless-N, webcam or gigabit ethernet?

I'm looking for something of a similar spec but with the above. A few netbooks seem to have these items but I'm struggling for a laptop with the same.

Hmm. The picture on CDiscount's site clearly shows a webcam. Either the picture is wrong, or the webcam has simply been left off the spec list.

Powerful spec and slick looking laptop!
#15
I'm pretty sure this doesn't have a webcam; Toshiba cut features to keep the price down on these.

Worst laptop ever had in my life.Breakdown after breakdown. Been back at Toshiba more than in my house. Would not take another Toshiba laptop if i got it for free..AVOID...

What sort of breakdowns did you experience?

I have got 2 Toshibas at home (the cheapest L40 + Tecra M9) - no problems at all. Next one will be Tosh too.
A lot of problems with laptops come from 'bad' users rather, than poor quality of manufacturing.

Ta very much - just bought one of these after current laptop gone up shiat creek. Not as good spec as I was looking for but I know I can trust a Toshiba.

Also bought 2gb extra DDR2 memory for it for £25 delivered on memorybits

not a bad deal i must say

They come with 2gb (2 x 1gb), so I think you will need 4gb (2 x 2gb) for the upgrade!

Dont forget Quidco 4% i think from CDiscount

I ordered dinner time Friday and paid £1 extra for next day. I phoned up CDiscount asking where is it and they said they do not deliver Saturday. I told them I could not find anywhere on their site saying this [they said theywould update the website to say this]. My parcel is tracked and I am just waiting for it now, Home Delivery Network are bringing it [worst courier in the world].

I was stuck between the two tbh. I chose this one for two reasons > I trust the name and the three months interest free sold it to me. I am on a tosh A series right now and have had it for about 5 years. It still looks like new and runs like new. I have not had one single problem with it from the day I bought it.

I'm stuck between the two also.
The Tosh looks better, but no webcam, not a major prob.
I'm not sure the pic of the Tosh is the one A200??
Just read a review about the Lenovo and it said the keyboard was cheap and the buttons come loose. :?
The Lenovo says its a 250gb hd.??

It has just been delivered:).

First impressions are Nice.

With me having a old tosh to compare it to I would say it looks newer lol.

It's lid looks a bit plastic [y] BUT looks ok in a Navy Blue / Blackish metalic finish. The keyboard looks great and feels great too. Speaker covers look a bit naf [cheap]. Looks alone I am quite happy not started it up yet. It don't have a webcam [ even though Cdiscount's site shows it] . It comes with a restore cd and Works 8 on cd.I have taken a couple of pics to show what the top looks and the keyboard look like.

I have also noticed that if you go onto the cdiscount site they have taken the zoom option away. You can not zoom into the picture now. Strange that because before I posted the pictures on here I double checked cdiscounts website and I could zoom into the picture and could clearly see the web cam on the one they where selling.

EDIT* Please ignore this post. It had only opened a new window lol and it is still there.
