you fail to point out the toshiba graphics card is far better than the dell making this a pointless counter offer:thinking: do a dell with matching graphics card as that adds a lot to the price

you have a point, but ati 3200 isnt exactly a fast graphics card its a low end graphics card. ATI 3200 is not suited for gaming, mainly suited for watching hd movies. The Intel Integrated GMA 4500MHD graphics card on the dell can also be used to watch hi def blu ray movies. The main reason why i voted it cold is the dell is £51 cheaper.

So add the dedicated graphics card (256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330) in the Dell's options for 45 quid extra, and you beat it all round for a very similar price!
(Dont' forget Quidco too!)

what about the fact toshiba's are better quality? or don't you take that into account
you only have to look at the dell secondhand store to see the number of returns they have

Are they?

Really?

I don't perceive any difference one way or the other to be honest, unless you have some figures to show otherwise.

I DID have a reliability awards site linked, for 2008 but it seems to be down now, ready for the 2009 Awards voting, but to be honest apart from real stinkers like Advent, there were good and bad points for most of the big names, and none of them were worth getting too worked up about one way or the other!

Unless the awards are based on facts from manufacturers and not people claiming this or that it has no point really

But Toshiba are currently giving a 3 year money back and keep the repaired/replaced laptop if a claim is make, can't see dell doing that for a year let along 3 years

The awards are PC Industry based, (PC Pro) Toshiba do well in them usually, but to be honest so do most of the other big name manufacturers! Some are better in some areas of the judging, some do better in others.

The free Toshiba warranty is most certainly NOT on this model though! It WAS on SOME very limited Portege and Tecra models, all WELL above this one in spec and features as well as price! Seems to be well finished now though - http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/generic/3-years-free-laptop-warranty/

You are beginning to flog the point, and when you flog anything, it starts to fall down!

There is nothing wrong with the deal in this posting, just it's beatable, or at least easily matched but that doesn't make it a bad deal, just not a particularity hot one. You clearly like Toshiba, I don't have any particular affinity one way or the other!

That's VERY misleading. Clearly you have a love of Toshiba laptops but telling people something you know not to be true isn't really what this site is all about.

wrong offer in your link but what else is to be expected from you as you seem to get everthing else wrong as well, hopefully you will stop your hollow ranting now

If you can't discuss things like an adult, then I don't have any particular desire to hear what you have to say, there isn't going to be anything of value in it anyway :-(
