Just had this e-mailed through to me via a mailshot from CCL - excellent mail order company, never had any problems with them at all.

Seems to be a great price for a Core 2 Duo system - don't think I've seen one this cheap anywhere!

System specs:

* Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology featuring Intel Core Duo Processor T2300E
* 512 MB DDR2 RAM
* 40 GB Hard Disk Drive
* 15.4 inch WXGA TFT Display
* DVD-CDRW Combo Drive
* Intel 945GM Express chipset
* SM BIOS compliant
* Toshiba Zooming utility
* Toshiba Power Saver utility
* Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

18 left in stock @ 10:32pm.

Have fun! :)

Not Core 2 Duo just Core Duo. Read comments.

That is not Core 2 Duo mate. Massive difference between this and the Core 2.

Well at least there will be once applications start using the full potential of Core 2.

Can mods please amend title to Core Duo so that people don't make the mistake of ordering one thinking they are getting something different.

There is not a massive difference between Core Duo and Core 2 Duo as yet, the C2D chips have 64bit enables so when all the 64bit apps come out then it will be useful, as it is, there is little difference to be had.

Still a good deal, shame about onboard graphics, just shows you though how quickly prices fall :)

Ian

Also note:
Small Harddrive, Small Allocation of RAM, only a CDRW-DVD combi (not a DVDRW drive), only XP Home - no mention of Vista...

Hello mate, I did state that there WILL be a massive difference very soon once everything is ironed out with Vista. Not as now, but the difference is still worth noting that the Core 2 even today is a good 10% better than this, soon we hope to see the 25% Intel have promised us.

I was mainly pointing out that this is not the deal people will be thinking.

As you stated it really does not have much going for it in every other aspect so to be honest I would stay well clear.

D'oh!

Sorry, must have misread the specs - not such a bargain after all then!

Apologies.
