I am not saying they have had them in stock for a while, but have you seen the advert on the page
Get £50 cashback from Toshiba between 18th Feb and 18th March 2008
Could you tell Toshiba you did not notice the date ;-)

Still seems a good price for a Laptop ideal for older person who just needs a bit of surfing and computer work

Isn't this a crackin' deal? Where does this machine fall short? I'm actually typing on one at work now. Seems pretty good... although I don't push it much. Runs Adobe CS4 Ok.

Difference seems to be my one says T2130 @ 1.86 Ghz, and the deal on play says:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 / 1.66 GHz ( Dual-Core )

This'll sound dumb, but... is the one in the deal better?
(both have 2gb ram)

£199 for a new 15.4" screen Tosh! It may be past it's sell by date but at this price, l predict it'll fly off the shelves. Cannot really compare it with a £199 netbook because of the netbook's size, portability and battery power but £ for £, as long as your computing needs are basic, the Tosh delivers in spades. Hot!

BTW the laptopsdirect website spec for this laptop mentions that you can downgrade from vista professional to XP professional. Could be useful if you dont like vista.

I had one in my basket. Still not decided, shame it's not £179 as £199 is not really worth it considering 80gb hd and a T3100 dual core celeron is a much better CPU.. Like the asus I bought from argos for £299 for my daughter.

I really did not need it so I'm not upset.
