You pay £329, but after the £50 back directly from toshiba comes down to £279. Quidco will probably be around £6. Comes with vista professional, or possibility to downgrade to xp professional. The only downside is no hdmi, but is a better processor I think than the Compaq at Asda. If you haven't found the bargain compaq this seems a good alternative.

Runing Vista with a Celeron CPU AND only 1Gb of memory ?

Not good, and if you add more memory that is more expense.
#2
You can get an extra gb for a tenner ....
#3
Running Vista with any processor and any amount of memory is not good is it?! ;)

- It's Dabs.com
- Celeron 900
- 1gb RAM
- Vista

If you need any more reasons not to purchase this laptop

- Win 7 upgrade ££££
- RAM upgrade ££££
- cashback doesn't always work with Toshiba (e.g. if your printer fails during printing)
#5
u can downgrade to xp for free then it'd run ok with 1gb.I don't see why everyone is obsessed by windows 7.Plus I doubt your printer would fail while printing...Anyway posted thinking it could be of use to anyone after a cheap machine...The compaq at £247 is a sempron, not the best processor either.
#6
this will be as good as a tortise doing a marathon

Yes it's a single core Celeron so everyone assumes it's slow. Yes it is slower than recent processors but it is much faster than any previous single core celeron, similar to older dual cores like the T2300 and core 2 duos like the T5270.
