* price includes £100 cashback from Toshiba
#2
It's a decent "eventual" price but I still have to lay out £530 and then get my £100 back in a couple of months.
Voted hot though ;)
#3
That's cheap for a GPU of that class. Hot

Looking for the best spec Laptop around the £400 region for the past few days, this looks like a candidate with that discount.
#5
Certainly a lot of spec for your money there
#6
Personally think this is worth an extra £70.

http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Toshiba_Satellite_Pro_L670-14P_970852.html

Better processor, more ram, bigger hard drive

Everything else the same
#7
Amazing price for the spec - I would order one if the hukd reviews of saveonlaptops weren't so bad.

Benchmarks rank it at 2356 compared to 1956, so about 20% faster. Worth the extra £70 if you have a need for speed.

Check these 2 out and then you can make your own mind up - It really depends on what you intend to do with the machine now and in the future.

Basically the i3 processor is entry level and the i5 mid range with higher clock speed and turbo boost facility

Dell XPS 15 is better.

That Medion from the other day was also better and similar priced.
#13
Misleading title!

You Pay £529.97

Then you claim £100 cashback.

Dell XPS 15 is better. That Medion from the other day was also better and similar priced.

Had a quick scan at the XPS 15's (http://www.dmxdimension.com/dell-uk/xps-15-laptop-deals-coupons/) and can't see it's wildly better for the extra money. The GPU benchmarks are XPS 15's GeForce GT 420M at 595 and the Tosh 5650 is benched at 617 i.e. better.

Don't get me wrong, I normally go Dell, and don't want a 17" screen anyway. I am however looking to replace my £1100 XPS *16* which has been the worst machine I've ever owned by a long chalk, so maybe I'm biased :) Interested in comments tho...

strange when you go to toshiba site says 50 pounds cashback, not 100 http://www.toshibacashback.com/

I think that first screen is incorrect; select December 2010 (or January 2011) and click to see the qualifying laptops and it says £100 cashback.
#19
Great deal, I'd get it If only it was 15.6" or even smaller.

Misleading title! You Pay £529.97Then you claim £100 cashback.

I did actually include a reference to cashback in the title but it seems that it got chopped off, so I added it in the first reply.

Someone's amended the original post now anyway.

Did not mean to mislead anyone!

slojo, thanks for posting! Would I be able to do simple video editing with this? I'm looking to replace my 6 year old desktop.
Thanks.

I'm certainly no techie, but with a powerful processor and a dedicated 1GB graphics card I would have thought simple video editing should be OK.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will give you a more definitive answer.

Ebuyer have a ex-display model of the L670-14P version for £645 - lol

I had one from SaveOnLaptops on 29 Dec. L670-14P, it has i5 processor and is very fast.

Only problem I have with it to register it with Toshiba via online for Warrenty. It say " Registration has expired"

I emailed the invoice to Toshiba so hopefully it will be sorted out soon.
Has anyone else had this problem.

I phoned the website and they said the laptop is new not refurbished.

Yes it was, barring the screen.

If the Medion deal was the Sainsburys one then nobody actually managed to get that - Sainsburys confirmed it was priced at £499 NOT £425.

Looking to play the odd game like age of empires 3 and use for browsing the web.

Obviously I'm missing something. The saveonlaptop site says £100 cashback however everything I've read on the Toshiba Cashback site only mentions £50 cashback? Can anyone point me to anywhere on the toshiba site that mentions the £100 cashback?
