Seems like an awesome deal to me for a well-known brand with a 5650 GPU and i5 CPU. Better resolution than the Medion (sp?) posted the other day at Sainsburys for the same price, too. I would expect it to get more heat, but I know there was a mix up and it got double posted yesterday I think, and the reviews of saveonlaptops are less than encouraging.

The tesco one has a Celeron processor which is much older than the i5 in this deal. The tesco one has Intel onboard graphics (which means it will only run very old and graphically-simple games) whereas this one has an ATI 5650 graphics card so will run even the most demanding games in low settings and slightly older games on high settings. I can't see the screen resolution on the tesco one, but I expect it is something like 1360(?)x768, which is lower than this one. The tesco one is slightly smaller and probably lighter. The RAM is faster on this one, 1066MHz instead of 800MHz. Overall this is a considerabley more powerful machine, but it is more expensive.

This is a great laptop for the price. I told my friend to buy the 14L version (i3 CPU and 2GB RAM) but the graphics card alone makes this a fantastic purchase - the HD5650 is a very good GPU.

The chassis is a bit plasticky (what do you expect for the price), the speakers are terrible and the computer comes preloaded with a lot of junk but everything else is up to scratch - and surprisingly the LCD panel is bright, sharp and offers good contrast.

You do get £100 cashback at Toshiba website, the people who say £50 are the ones who don't click through or read properly - check for yourselves: http://www.toshibacashback.com/

would have bought it if it is 15.6 inch

Looked at this, thought you had to be a company or have vat number to qualify for the cash back.
So anyone can get the cash back? Seems too good to be true. rsvp. please.

plewis00 when you say good contrast is the colour black decent or is it a murky grey the bane of LED laptop panels!?
Considering L670-14L is 430 at the moment, is it worth paying the extra 70 for the l670-14P?

I have personally seen it with my own eyes so while my comment was subjective, I felt it was a much better screen than the usual rubbish you'd expect for a low-priced computer. The black is average I supposed, but the white level is high so it seems to be good.

I was thinking over the i3 vs. the i5 version and I think the i5 is worth it for better performance and re-sell value. The i3 is clearly a budget processor but i5 is higher-end so I'd take that. You also get more RAM and a bigger hard disk if that wasn't enough - so I'd take the 14P.
