Also more like £400 including VAT. Not that that is a bad price, I wanted one like this the other day and got a slim MSI somethingorother from Argos that was similarly specced. It was £379.99 - but if I had the choice when I bought it I may well have gone for this for £20 more (at the time I bought it I was in dire need of a PC and it was about five to eight, so I grabbed what I could in Argos!..)

Shame - looks good

Remember also that this is Excluding VAT...there's a button on the top-left of the page that says "Show me prices inc VAT"...I almost got stung by that on Friday when looking at a netbook!!!

That brings the price up to just under £400...

Edit: Justingalore beat me to it!

Sorry forgot about the VAT they still have them instore at £398 as a friend bought one earlier.

pardon the ignorance but is this a netbook? even so is 1.3GHz not painfully slow?

Looks like a CULV based laptop which is a step up from a netbook.

You can get an idea of definition of CULV here.

This vs the acer ferrari one for performance? Ive upped my budget too around £400 now to get something with decent performance as well as portability.

Acer Ferrari is a better performance laptop.

Toshiba is also now back in stock online.

Ferrari One is £399 in Argos, as with a lot of other retailers, however the ones in Argos have 3Gb RAM instead of the standard 2Gb...picked one up last week so far so good, Windows 7 runs faster than XP on my Advent 4211 and that's with full disk encryption
