Thanks, I got the Toshiba SD370E from Amazon for 30 days price protection.

Its definitelty worth noting it plays DivX and Xvid....... thats the main reason I'd have such a unit.

Free P&P on Amazon too.

Amazon one look best, put in a HDMI cable with the free postage to get it with a cheap cable.

The reviews for this machine on amazon are just about the worst reviews I've ever seen for a dvd player. I would avoid this at all costs.
#8
I was gonna get it too but due to bad reviews stayed clear. Alot of people have complained about the freezing.

does this upscale?
having had a tosh dvd player before they have awsome picture quality
the freezing is that down to media people are using? ie dvd+r or cheap media ? datawrite the usual cheapo discs

I got this for xmas from amazon.

It has frozen on me once (needed me to pull the plug out) but apart from that its been fine. Great picture, multiregion and a good price.

I've been using it every day since xmas day as well.

Thats not the best endorsement really - its frozen on you once in less than 2 weeks after being purchased (and I would assume this will continue or get worse as the player ages)

That said, there have been some more favourable reviews, but generally, this DVD has been slated with most reivewers recommending the Philips or Samsung models around the same price. It's a shame as, like a few others on here, I got the 42" tosh from currys and would love the dvd to match and be able to use the 1 remote, but until they sort this out I'd be a little wary of buying this dvd especially online. I'd be tempted if a highstreet store pricematched, so if it did go wrong, I could easily take it back. I really can't be @rsed with sending things back and all the postage/courier hassles.

What Samsung model do people like? I've just got a new Samsung telly and would like a new DVD player to go with it - Multiregion and HDMI are a must.

I got a cheap Phillips from Richer Sounds which does the job and only cost 20 quid.
