awesome specs
voted hott - just the screen size thats putting me off

Yep, I agree that bigger screen usually means better comfort of work, but 14' widescreen is still comfortable.I could not work on 12 inches, but 14'' is absolutely fine....and 15% less to lift comparing to 15 ;)

quick question about the graphics card, is it any good. I'll likely only be playing FM2009 and an occassional other bits save all more demanding games for console. What kind of punishment would this stand up to?

Thanks

it's more or less like 8400M.Should be ok to play that game. This is graphic for professional usage (offers hq picture) rather than offered for gamers.

is it just me that sees finger print readers as a gimick on laptops or any pc for that matter? considering that you always have to set a master password in case it fails surely it is only as strong as a normal password

Thought this was a good buy as I am looking for a new business laptop which is what this is aimed at rather than gaming etc. However, reviews are not very complimentary saying it is a bit flimsy and runs very hot. Shame...thought it was a bargain initially.

Have a look at http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mLB9aMLGhOA .Is it filmsy ??? :) I agree, some of the plastics do not look very solid but they play completely different role - to break and protect the screen and components.Replacement of some plastics is cheaper and easier than recovery of data from damaged hard disk .
I have got M9 but with much slower cpu and mine is never getting hot. The fan is almost noiseless anyway.

I have a Thinkpad at the mo and I think they do an advertising feature something like that. I'm only going off the review I read regarding the flex in the lid and keypad and a very hot exhaust (110-120 degrees).

I'll revisit it and have a look. All these laptop deals in the forums are usually 15.4 or 17in screens and often the laptops are not up to a business life. My Thinkpad is 1.7kg and very strong (titanium lid and magnesium). Some of those laptops are 1kg more. Might not seem much but makes a big difference on a plane in hand luggage. Looks like I may have to pay out full price for something like the one I have now again but am a bit tighter on cash than when I bought it before (cost about £800 and well-discounted). Damn!

I would choose ThinkPad T or X series over Tecra but..similar spec costs twice as much...or more :). R is not in the same league.Maybe Samsung Q210/Q310 is worth a try?
