When a 10" netbook is too small but a 15" laptop is too big. This is a cheaper and faster (albeit slightly larger) alternative to the forthcoming Samsung NC20.

1200x800 resolution 13.3" screen, T2390 processor (dual core), 2GB RAM (1GB free), 120GB, DVD writer, Webcam

The processor isn't the fastest, but its dual core and much faster than Atom and Via Nano (as far as I can see).

You need to fit the extra 1GB RAM yourself, but this is easy to do.
£459.99 less £100 cashback less £13.99 quidco= £346

Price shown should be without Quidco!

You can always add Qudco price to the title... Just not the actual price space.

If your Quidco does work though this is a potential inferno!

You can get better Dell Vostro 1310 deals at Dell Outlet. I picked up a 1310 with the better Core 2 processor, 2GB ram, 160GB HD, Vista Premium, and the all important Dell next business day on site 1-year warrant for £280 delivered.

But a Tosh is a Tosh!

The last Dell I had broke shortly after waranty expired - so I was avoiding them. May have been my bad luck but I have found Toshibas I've come across to be better built.
Each to thier own I guess - both seem like good deals compared to the new larger 'netbooks'!

... if you want a refurbished PC, so not really the same.

The Samsung NC20 is also about 25% (0.5kg) lighter than both the Toshiba U400 and the Dell Vostro 1310, so if you want portability there's only one choice.

But this still looks like a good deal if you want a Tosh...

Lucky for you - however they don't drop under £350 BEFORE VAT atm so that's not really comparable...

Also this cashback has to be reclaimed (before 28/2) - I'm assuming Misco will charge you £459 - worth knowing that :)

Almost a Macbook.

But lighter.

Very good price. This has Vista Business or XP pro too!

The P8400 version of the U400 has also been posted: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/342212/toshiba-satellite-pro-u400-130-for- Much more powerful and expensive but about the ame value IMO. Not that many agree with me.

Thing about a good netbook is that it's small and should last a good 5+ hours on a charge - several models existing and about to be released do this at this price.

Or you get a fully fledged laptop with decent sized screen, decent cpu/storage/graphics and capacious battery.

THIS is a halfway house that satisfies neither requirement - Toshiba knows it and hence you are being offerred inducements to buy.
