Not bad just be aware PCI is pushing it for Gbit transfer speeds but you will still get significantly faster speeds than 100mbit (providing what you are connecting it to is 1gbit)

OK StormB, that's two products I've mentioned in the original TP-Link Gigabit router deal that you've now turned into 'finds' of your own. How about at least giving some credit!

PCI and PCI Express are different.

Great price, half the price of the card normally.

Edit:
Nm, ignore this comment, just googled and apparently this card works on Win 7 too.

Had a frustrating experience attempting to get a similar older NIC working on Windows 7, there were literally no drivers available for it :/ Bit irritating really.

I beg to differ, I saw this product at this price long before Xmas, didn't buy it then, but ordered it a week or so back (still this price), I think £4.87 is the price. It is very good value at that price but I'm not sure it constitutes a 'deal'.

hmm. I have an old Intel PCI 10/100/1000 GT Desktop adapter I had to use recently because my onboard died. It was able to do 90-100 MB/sec without an issue though.

Ay ay ay ay calm down calm down! I'm back after me 2 week suspension for daring to criticise the clique who try to control free speech and thought on here. Looking forward to upsetting those who need upsetting.

Do most people not have ethernet functionality onboard?

I bought one of these cards and the matching switch not so long back. I'm pleased with the switch, but its only after I got the card that I realised my on-board was already 1000 :|

Still it was only £4. Looks like my creaking old linux box is in for a little treat over the next few days X)

Yes, but they may only have 10/100 not 10/100/1000 which is Gigabit.

I'll give you credit if that makes you happy! Not trying to steal your thunder, just making them into deals because I thought they were cheap!

I actually don't feel any 'reward' in making hot deals under my name. Maybe that's just me though, because I also don't get the 'badge' system either!

Either way, no offense intended.

These are good for if you want to run OSX on your PC and OSX doesnt support your onboard ethernet, but, their wake-on-lan functionality doesnt seem to work in OSX or Windows
