Let me guess, no gigabit LAN? What's the point of providing a fat pipe only to install a tap that effectively drips? Cold for me!

Because 500mbps dont reach 100meg even if it did have a 1gb port! Google actual speeds on homeplugs

Are these a lot better than the Currys £9.99 ones?

That's what she said.

TP-Link are single handedly the worst gear I've ever bought, unreliable and cheap, but cheap for a reason because a lot of their stuff isn't fit for purpose.

Hi All

Not directly a question regarding these TP Powerlines / tis deal, but I notice a lot of negative comments on various brands

What in your view are the best brand to buy (I have fiber optic and geting around 35 download and 10 upload speed and looking to hook one power powerline to a PS4 and then a second oneto the top of the house as a WiFi booster)

Thanks for any advice

Just had a BT engineer round installing BT Infinity, and he told me I needed one of these.

So this was quite a fortunate post!

Can these be mixed and matched with the 200mb ones from tp link? Ie 500 one on router, then one 500 and two 200...

Cheers

Yes but they will only run at 200.

I bought this last week for £55. No issues with it so far, followed the advice of one of the reviewers to set it up with my virgin superhub!

Just contacted Amazon for a refund of the difference so thanks to the OP!

KingOfFools

Is that even on the second 500 one?

Thanks

The 500 ones will slow down to 200 in order to join the 200 network as all devices are listening to the same signals over the mains cabling.

Great price, I got mine when they were around the £60 mark. Have worked flawlessly for the 7 Months I've had them.

Please note that these items have a 3 year warranty. I have just had one of mine replaced with no issues via this warranty.

Comments like this annoy-the-hell out of me - one person has one experience and makes a statement which is not only sweeping but legally actionable - it's all "wah wah wah MY DUMMY" stuff and it's tiring.

I've used loads of TP Link kit - most has been fine, a few have failed - they've all been replaced without question.

So, basically, they're as good as anything else - in a nutshell.

Bought this exact set from Tesco last Thursday for £60! I always miss the deals!

It works well, was more difficult to set up than the box would lead you to believe, the Wi-Fi clone function didn't work with the WPS function on my Virgin Broadband Superhub 2 so had to set it up the wi-fi extender manually. Once that was done it works fine. Heat added.

Great price... Ordered mine now. Have been looking for a good replacement to my netgear non-wifi power line kit :)

Are you retarded?

500mbps is the MAXIMUM theoretical throughput. You'll never, ever get that.

You shouldn't using WPS any way!

Even with modified firmwares I can break into the Superhub in an afternoon with WPS turned on.
