Just saw this deal at the Merry Hill Shopping Centre, Dudley branch of HMV. They're selling Pokémon Black and White versions for Nintendo DS for £29.99 each with a free officially licensed Pokémon Black and White themed zip case that fits DS Lite's and DSi's. If you trade in one of the below list of titles, you can get the game for just £6.99 too:
Pokémon Platinum
Pokémon Soul SIlver
Pokémon Heart Gold
Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies
Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem

"Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version introduce more than 150 new Pokémon and a new region to explore. Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version feature new Pokémon that players can catch, train and battle as they progress through the game, and some Pokémon can only be caught in one version of the game. For example, the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram can only be caught in Pokémon Black Version, while the Legendary Pokémon Zekrom can only be caught in Pokémon White Version.

Additionally, the two games feature different areas for the first time in the series, with the game world of Pokémon Black Version featuring a unique metropolitan area called Black City, and a lush, green area named White Forest only found in Pokémon White Version. Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version also mark the first time in a Pokémon video game that the seasons will change in the game world. Certain Pokémon appear more frequently during different seasons, and players can only access some areas during a specific season.

Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Versio n let players start with one of three new Starter Pokémon - the Grass-type Snivy, the Fire-type Tepig or the Water-type Oshawott. Until the main story of the game is complete, every Pokémon that players encounter will have never been seen before in previous Pokémon games. The games also feature original boy and girl trainers who set out on an adventure in the new Unova region."

Not too shabby. Considering that you can get Almia for around £10, that'd be Pokemon Black / White for less than £20.

That's what I was thinking. You'd have thought they'd want last year's Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs instead.

Good deal.
Just checked ebay and people are selling Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia with a buy now price around £12-14.
So you could get Black/White for £19-21.

I'd imagine so. Their instore deals normally are.

Just realised when you quoted that, that I forgot to put Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem in there, as shown in the photo I posted of the offer.

Fantastic deal. I got a copy of Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia for £9 from eBay and just picked up a copy of the game. The discount wasn't on their system so it took 10 mins for them to fiddle with the till. The leaflet for the offer was on display and it showed the same picture as on the Ranger game. I also got a £2 off £20 voucher from the till.

There is also a deal where you can return the game by March 17th and get a £25 voucher to buy something else

Many thanks

You don't need to take ahenry's or my word for it. Look at the photos of the instore advertising I posted at the top of this thread.

Got mine today from Peterborough HMV - traded in Legends of Almia and got Pokemon white, plus free case and free pokeball!! It wasn't going through the till properly, was coming up at £16.99 - he had to go off and find the list of games as they didn't have the poster up in store! In the end I got it all for £6.97, an extra 2p off! Woop! Thanks, great deal!!

is this not like the previous offer where you could just have the saving put onto a gift card to "buy the game later"?
#24
Wow... hot! Seems like if you haven't got any of the listed trade-in games, you can buy Alumnia from Cex for £8 and use that to get Pokemon White/Black for 6.99 for a grand total outlay of £14.99 and that 17 March trade-in deal makes it even sweeter. If I've understood it right, you can buy Alumnia for £8 and eventually get £25 trade-in value for another game...

Thanks! Will have a try tomorrow in birmingham city centre.

I was shopping at Asda and found it. Only a tool would make a effort to go there specifically just to get it. Nice to see you using your GCSE mathematics there.

cheapest to buy pokemon black/white ~ 23quid (without a case probably worth 4-5quid)
hmv price on top of game = 7quid
reported that some of these games can be has for 8-10quid or less
saving = 6-8quid or more and a free case
couple of quid = 2
nice to see your very own gcse maths fail

only a tool would take a taxi to town buy a suitable game for 20quid walk 2 miles and pay another 7 for it.
i expect there are many people with cex/gamestation etc in the same street (or even own the game) making this very simple.
oh...and they may also be shopping in the vicinity so good fail all round.
