Hope this is in the right place and not a repost.

So basically trade in any PS3, XBOX 360, Wii or DS game worth the value of £34.99 and get mario galaxy 2 for "free".

Available from the 11th of June (They advise to reserve then trade)

Trade-in terms and conditions

1. We will accept original PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii games.
2. All traded-in games must be in fully working order, complete with instruction book and of satisfactory quality. We will check that the game is genuine. We reserve the right to decline to accept any game which we feel is not of satisfactory quality. The store managers decision on this matter is final.
3. It is a legal requirement if you trade in any game that we record your name and address. The information we are collecting from you is solely for HMRC purposes and we will not be using the information for any marketing purposes.
4. The trade in value printed above or on promotional material is an indication but will change daily. For the latest value of your game, please check our Which games? section or ask in any of our participating stores.
5. Argos reserves the right to alter or amend the value of the gift voucher offered as a trade in value.
6. We reserve the right to stop accepting certain games for trade-in at any time.
7. We will not accept imported games.
8. We will only accept trade in games from customers who are dealing with us as a consumer and if we suspect that you are operating on a commercial basis we will decline to trade with you.
9. We reserve the right to refuse to accept multiple copies of the same game or stock believed to have been sourced through a trade buyer.
10. The gift voucher can be used as full or part payment against any product on sale at Argos and cannot be used for online or telephone purchases. The gift voucher must be spent within 3 years of issue.

Surely this is just a trade in thing like CEX? Its not like trade in game X and get Mario free, its just trade in 4 games that total £35 and get this game we're selling for £35 for free....am I wrong?
#2
or to put it clearly, give us games worth £35 and we will give you a game that we retail at £35
#3
What they see as being worth £35, which will be worth more at cex/game/hmv
#4
rubbish deal >:(
#5
This is not a deal in any way shape or form, unless you have a bundle of bargain bucket titles.
#6
Wow...people actually contemplate buying games for their Wii?! Isn't it like the easiest console current gen to get unsigned code running.

About as easy as the PSPm DS, or 360.

As for this deal, i am failing to see a deal tbh
#8
This "deal" is only considered a deal if you have been stupid enough to buy a recent duff title, or played through a recent title that has limited lifespan that still has decent trade in value.

For everyone else, a dvd-r suits just fine.

Maybe so, but I'm proud to help whoever made No More Heroes, Okami, Super Mario Galaxy, Let's Tap, Mad World, Resident Evil Chronicles, A Boy and His Blob, Boom Blox, De Blob, Little King's Story, Red Steel 2, Dead Space Extraction and many more, live whatever life the money I pay for games brings them.

Freezing cold deal.

Saw a list recently of the games Argos accept and the value they place on them is diabolical.

Better to go to www.cex.co.uk/sell, find the values.... then go Gamestation and get them to price match the trade + £1!!!
#11
not even a deal, and it's a bad non deal at that!

You have just as much common sense as an American. Have fun with your life.

Considering I have a lot of American relatives I easily take offense to that comment

Hear, hear. How do these numpties think games are created? By the Freegame Fairy?

Someone's imagination, time and technical ability deserves as much reward as the efforts of any other working man/woman.

Suitable reward will lead them to continue creating games for our pleasure, unless we all succumb to the 'let's buy one title and copy it a million times' philosophy of Dr. ********, in which case the first game we play will also be the last as no-one will want to create new games for nothing.

good deal if you can get 3 copies of gta4 on the ps3, a deal posted yesterday at £3 each, would make it £9 for mario galaxy 2.

Agreed. I love my Wii & 360 and am happy to buy the games, new or second hand. Theft is theft and its not very smart.

Buying games second hand or renting is amounting to the same as theft, hence why games developers want to see more downloadable games, else they do not get the royalties twice Same with DVDs, CDs, Blu Ray, any second hand sale means that the publisher only gets royalties once.

Renting a game and copying it or buying it second hand makes no difference to the publisher, revenue lost full stop.

Unless you hot footed it from "Birmingham" to "Bristol" this morning for10 am opening in Bristols Rise, sprinted it up that big hill to get all 3 remaining copies, I can safely say they will all sell out.

dvd-r? Cut out the middle man and just play from a USB loader.
